The Corpse Farm
Here's a link to the infamous corpse farm in Tennessee, which is used to study the decomposition rates of corpses to improve time of death estimates in criminal cases. Also in this article, and it's a fascinating piece of news: Houdini's body is going to be exhumed and tested to find out if he was actually poisoned by Spiritualists, as was recently alleged in The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America's First Superhero (which I highly recommend--it's a terrific book). To be real and authentic or not to be...
Emile Hirsch has had a series of roles playing real people - he's played:
1. Jay Adams in "Lords of Dogtown,"
2. Johnny Truelove (aka "Jesse James Hollywood") in "Alpha Dog,"
and now
3. Christopher McCandless in "Into the Wild."
Here he talks about the process of embodying these characters and how he makes the choice to become that person he's playing or to go a different route altogether.
Emile can currently be seen in Sean Penn's "Into the Wild."
