Gary Glitter leaves Vietnam jail
Former pop star Gary Glitter has been released from prison in Vietnam after serving most of a three-year sentence for sexually abusing two girls.
Glitter, 64, real name Paul Francis Gadd, is due to be deported to the UK, flying out of Vietnam later and changing planes in Bangkok, Thailand.

Japanese iPhone has setting to protect women from 'upskirt' attacks
The iPhone 3G in Japan has a special feature unique to that country: the camera always makes a conspicuous 'shutter' sound when a picture is taken, even when the phone is set to 'silent' mode.
The loud shutter sound is supposed to deter voyeurs from taking sneaky pictures up women’s’ skirts - or down their tops.
In Japan, upskirt and downblouse shots have become increasingly popular with the advent of high-resolution camera phones.
As a result, all cell phones sold in Japan make a conspicuous shutter sound, or say the word “cheese” when a snap is taken, according to Nobuyuki Hayashi, a tech reporter based in Tokyo. On almost all new cell phones, the camera shutter sound can not be muted, Hayashi says.
“Some manufacturers have even put louder shutter sound,” he reports.
The shutter on the first iPhone sold in Japan could be muted in silent mode; an anomaly that many wondered whether Apple would correct in the iPhone 3G, Hayashi says.
Apple did: The shutter sound cannot be turned off, even in silent mode, Hayashi says.
Is it not a little scary that so-called 'upskirts' are such a phenomenon in Japan (and elsewhere, no doubt) that local phone technology has to find ways to protect women from such abuse? Mom Drugs Twin Girls To Make Child Porn
"An Illinois woman faces at least 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to doping her 6-year-old twin girls with cough syrup and taking nude pictures of them with her boyfriend.
The 30-year-old mother pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court in western Wisconsin to creating child pornography.
Her boyfriend, 37-year-old Roger Smith of Hollandale, pleaded guilty last month to sexually exploiting children. Both are due for sentencing in September.
U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb ordered the mother, who is pregnant, placed at a federal Bureau of Prisons medical center until sentencing.
The twins have lived with their father since the couple divorced in October. The pictures were taken in November and February at the woman's home in west-central Illinois.
The Associated Press generally does not identify people who may be victims of sexual assault and naming the mother could reveal the girls' identities."
WTF is wrong with people? I always disagree when others say people should need permits to have children, but stories like this make it harder to argue against it. 'Beast' Man Jailed for Possessing 31,000 Animal Porn Images
"Rodney Scott McLagan, 48, of South Arm, today was sentenced after pleading guilty to possessing 31,000 illegal images, most involving human female sex acts with dogs, ponies, snakes, tigers and an octopus.
Although 30 percent of the total images involved child pornography, Hobart Supreme Court Justice David Porter today said only 20 percent of those were actually viewed by McLagan.
"Your interests lie in the bestiality material," Justice Porter said in sentencing today.
McLagan's lawyer David Barclay told the court that his client had little or no interest in child pornography, and no relevant prior convictions.
Those images were downloaded in bulk along with the bestiality material, Barclay said.
McLagan, a single man with no children, pleaded guilty on July 4 to possessing bestiality products and child exploitation material.
Police found the images on computers and discs discovered during a search of McLagan's home, near Hobart, on January 6 last year.
A psychiatric report tendered to the court showed McLagan suffers from an avoidant personality disorder, leaving him ill-equipped to achieve normal intimacy.
The disorder often leaves its sufferers with chronic social anxiety and loneliness, without the opportunity for normal sexual relationships, and fantasy is often indulged, the court was told.
Justice Porter said: "It also emerges from the report that you are particularly self-conscious about your teeth".
"One of the consequences of all of this in your case is that you equate yourself with a beast, reflecting the level of your self-esteem.
"It is that which motivated your accessing the material you did."
McLagan was convicted and sentenced to a four-month suspended jail term and fined $1500.

"A Michigan man wore a T-shirt that said "World's Greatest Dad" when he went to have sex with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl, officials tell the Detroit Free Press.
Daniel Allen Everett "allegedly engaged in graphic sexual conversation with an undercover agent and propositioned the agent, who was posing as a 14-year-old girl, to meet him for sex," prosecutors say in a statement issued Tuesday. "This afternoon, Everett was arrested in Novi where he is alleged to have appeared to meet the minor for sex. He was arrested wearing a T-shirt with the words, 'Worlds Greatest Dad' on the front, a sad reminder that Internet predators come from all walks of life."
Everett, a 33-year-old who chatted online as "danmichelle2004," was charged yesterday with child sexual abuse and using the Internet to attempt sexual abuse.

Gays threaten the religious!
In what is being described as "another blow to religious liberty" in Canada, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario has ordered a Christian organization to cease using an employment contract which has staff promise they will not engage in "homosexual relationships." Moreover, the ruling demands that the organization pay $23,000, plus two years wages and benefits to a woman who signed onto the contract and then entered a homosexual relationship and was subsequently dismissed.
In an April 15 ruling, released today, the Tribunal ruled against Christian Horizons, an Evangelical Christian Ministry that provides care and residential services to 1,400 developmentally disabled individuals with over 180 residential homes across Ontario, and 2,500 employees.
The ruling which was decided by a single adjudicator - Michael Gottheil - ruled further that all managers and employees receive a pro-homosexuality "human rights training program"...
Connie Heintz, an employee who signed onto the "morality statement" as a condition of employment, promised not to engage in "homosexual relationships", among other anti-Christian activities such as "extra-marital sexual relationships (adultery)", "pre-marital sexual relationships (fornication)", "viewing or reading pornographic material" and "lying".
When Heintz entered into a homosexual relationship and her employers came to know of it, she claims she was subject to a poisoned work environment and threatened with loss of her job. She quit her job in 2000."

A serial subway sex fiend found himself behind bars again yesterday for molesting a woman on a subway train - stretching his record to an incredible 53 arrests, cops said.
Freddie Johnson had only been out of prison for about two weeks when he was nabbed allegedly rubbing his genitals against a horrified woman on a crowded No. 6 train during the morning rush.
