Bowden Spurns Arkansas to Stay with Clemson
"Tommy Bowden agreed to a contract extension to remain Clemson's coach Tuesday.
Monday, sources told ESPN.com that Arkansas had focused its coaching search on Bowden and was prepared to offer Bowden a contract in excess of $2 million annually.
"He was gone this morning," a source told ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach. "He was just looking for more stability. He's excited about the team he's got coming back and the recruiting class coming in. They have good momentum and he and his family are happy there."

7 Students Killed in Beach House Fire
A group of students spent the weekend in a North Carolina beach house that belonged to the parents of one of the students, relaxing and enjoying the beach before the weather turned too cold. Six University of South Carolina students and one Clemson student were killed, while 6 other South Carolina students survived. Investigators believe the fire was accidental and that it started on a deck. The names of the fatalities have not been officially released.
