Supercharged holografic 3-D movies, and it's not red and blue
James Cameron, the master mind behind Titanic among other movies has been hard at work making his next project, Avatar, which will reintroduce the world to 3-D movies.
However forget cheap red and blue glasses, he is using a new technology that lets as many as 60 frames to be used at once in clear glasses to allow full resolution and full color picture to be shot come right out of the screen into your theatre coming soon.
While it is yet to be seen if this new technology really as great as it is being made out to be only time will tell,
Also Ubisoft the video game maker who has the rights to making the video games for the Avatar movie, will make a video game to be released around the same time as the movie using the same technology, and then take it on to other games.

Is 3D holographic TV on the way?
Researchers in the US have developed a new material that allows holograms to be quickly and easily rewritten to provide a moving image, making live 3D holographic television or films a near-reality. They suggest the medical profession could be early adopters of the technology to create 3-Dimensional images from scans. Like everything though, it'll probably be the adult industry that takes to it first. Prince Charles calls for green energy...as a HOLOGRAM
The performance saved 15 tons of carbon dioxide, which would have been generated by Charles if he and his staff took the flight to Abu-Dhabi.
The hologram is based on a 19th century trick, called Pepper's ghost. The five-minute video, recorded about a month ago, was beamed onto a film set to create Charles' 3-D image. The performance saved 15 tons of carbon dioxide, which would have been generated by Charles if he and his staff took the flight to Abu... more -

Is our universe a gigantic hologram?
This is what suggests this Scientific American article. Here are some excerpts.
By studying the mysterious properties of black holes, physicists have deduced absolute limits on how much information a region of space or a quantity of matter and energy can hold. Related results suggest that our universe, which we perceive to have three spatial dimensions, might instead be "written" on a two-dimensional surface, like a hologram. Our everyday perceptions of the world as three-dimensional would then be either a profound illusion or merely one of two alternative ways of viewing reality. A grain of sand may not encompass our world, but a flat screen might.
