Tourists, meet the drug dealers of Brazil
Rio de Janerio's police are reportedly investigating claims that tourists visiting some of the city's notorious 'favelas' are being offered a chance to meet armed drug dealers.
According to the BBC, the police are believed to be looking into whether tourists are 'being put at risk' on guided tours of the Rio's shanty towns.
According to the BBC, the Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo has reported that one company offering such tours includes a chat with what it calls an "armed soldier".
One of the paper's journalists went on a tour of Rocinha - said to be the largest shanty town in Latin America, and whilst there was introduced to an armed man belonging to the faction that controls the sale of drugs in the area.
