Remember American Indian War Veterans on Memorial Day
American Indian
Veterans Memorial
Mission
On September 4, 1996, the American Indian Veterans Memorial Organization was established, in order to build a memorial dedicated to all American Indian Veterans and to provide a place for all to gather and honor those who have served.
The memorial will remind all of the sacrifices made by American Indians, in all branches of the military services, assure that the dedication and bloodshed of these warriors are not forgotten, and to dedicate a memorial of lasting significance for these veterans.

My people honored me as a warrior. We had a feast and my parents and grandparents thanked everyone who prayed for my safe return. We had a "special" [dance] and I remembered as we circled the drum, I got a feeling of pride. I felt good inside because that's the way the Kiowa people tell you that you've done well.

Breakthroughs in tissue regrowth give hope to war wounded
It's science fiction turning into fact.
A new Defense Department program to make U.S. soldiers whole again is developing cutting-edge medical technology that's regrowing human tissue, in some cases, on the backs of mice.
The Pentagon recently launched the Armed Forces Institute of Regenerative Medicine or AFIRM, a five-year $250 million initiative in cooperation with researchers at Wake Forest and Rutgers that uses soldiers' own stem cells to grow skin, muscles, tendons and even bone.
Army Surgeon General Lt Gen Eric Schoomaker said like a salamander regenerating a lost tail -researchers want to take amphibian technology and use the same concept for humans.
Based human body's natural ability to self-heal, they attach cells to scaffolding, say in the shape of a nose, and re-grow tissue. It's science fiction turning into fact. ... more -
107 Year Old Final Surviving WW I Vet
Frank Woodruff Buckles was honored by President Bush as the final surviving WWI vet. He lied about his age so he could fight at 15, the only lie he claims he ever told. O'Reilly Turns Away Homeless Vets Demanding Apology
I was there that day with the vets, capturing their stories, documenting their exchange in front of News Corporation. The next day, O'Reilly had spun it to look like... well, you already know how O'Reilly rolls. Let the vets speak for themselves. The FAUX "News" Channel and Bill O'Loofah are at it again!
Just as they had rather report on the trials and tribulations of troubled entertainer, Brittany Spears, instead of reporting anything bad that happens in Washington or Iraq, FAUX "News" Channel's inimitable Bill O'Reilly was recently caught in another of his oral blunders. (He is so often skewered by his inflated ego and his penchant for lying about not spinning things that Keith Olbermann's nickname for him is Bill Orally.)
Watch here as Andrea Mackris' one time wannabe shower-mate again gets himself in trouble by spinning out of control in a zone he has untruthfully-named the "No Spin Zone".
I laugh every time I see FAUX "News" use their ill-gotten slogan of "Fair and Balanced". Then, when they add, "We report. You decide." It makes me mumble, "We Report Rubbish. You Decide If You Want to Take the Bait", under my breath.
I guess there are enough people who have never bothered to check on his objectivity or read about the Andrea Mackris lawsuit that apparently lists, word for word, his recorded sexual suggestions to her over the phone. One such particularly graphic page in the lawsuit she filed is here: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/1013043mackris14.h...
Without further ado, I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions about whether you'd want your children to read his latest book targeting young readers. ("The O'Reilly Factor for Kids: A Survival Guide for America's Families") I wonder how a girl young enough to be his daughter, Andrea Mackris, would have been counseled in the book.
This piece exposes another in his long line of completely moronic O'Reilly Factor statements.
At least Michael Savage's sponsors are leaving him in droves after actually having their attention called to the hate and venom spewed by Savage a.k.a. Weiner on his program "The Savage Nation." I just wish Orally's sponsors would place spots on the "Factor" based on its truthfulness rather than its popularity with the Kool-Aid drinkers who actually believe what they see on the FAUX "News" Channel. Just as they had rather report on the trials and tribulations of troubled entertainer, Brittany Spears, instead of reporting anything... more -

MORE SOLDIERS DIE IN OUR OWN SOIL THAN OVERSEAS...
They are the casualties of wars you dont often hear about - soldiers who die of self-inflicted wounds. Little is known about the true scope of suicides among those who have served in the military.
But a five-month CBS News investigation discovered data that shows a startling rate of suicide, what some call a hidden epidemic, Chief Investigative Reporter Armen Keteyian reports exclusively.
This is an issue that deserves at least a little bit of your time. Astonishing facts!
There is much more to the cost of the Iraq war than money... They are the casualties of wars you dont often hear about - soldiers who die of self-inflicted wounds. Little is known about the true... more -
