YES WE CAN... a movement.
So far these elections have been a rocky road and i believe that for once race, religion, political parties, and the fear that has been polluting our method of thinking for the past century is finally going to be pushed aside. 4 years ago it seemed so obvious, vote for the lesser of two evils, but this time it seems like it's finally time for the new generation to take hold of it's future. For years we sat in our history classes reading about these great movements in the past that have drastically changed the way we live our lives and the freedoms we've endured in this beautiful country and all we were able to do was just imagine what it must have been like to be inspired by greats such as Dr. King, and the late President Kennedy. How great it would have been to live during a time where you fought for your country because your president, who lacked the capacity to even WALK, had the courage to inspire you with nothing but his words and determination for the healing of an economically droughted country. How beautiful it must have been to hear the passion that musicians such as Paul McCartney and John Lennon brought forth in their music to inspire a generation that would rally together for a common cause that only true love can end a war with no end. and now, for once i feel like it's that time. Finally history is being made before our very eyes... because now it's not so obvious, we face an election that regardless of the result will bring great significant change to our country and potentially to our world. Finally we can grasp that fear that we've been concealed with and we can stand up and be inspired. Finally we have a figure, a face, a man that can bring people together for a common cause, a common purpose. Finally we can stand up and say YES WE CAN, Yes we can change this nation, Yes we can heal the gaps that have divided us for so many years, we can cross religions, cross races, cross political barriers, and realize that when we look each other eye to eye we're all just people beneath the surface, people with one common goal, and one common purpose, and that's what defines us as a nation. The calling has been made... we gonna answer?
Yes. We can....

University's are focused on building GREENer
Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida just finished a large bridge project that was focused completely on using materials that were safe for the environment and reused plastic/wood.
'The bridge took about a year to plan, but only about four months to construct. “We’re very proud,” said Pete Ikegami, the architect on the project from MRI Architect Group. “It’s solid! It looks so simple; nobody knows the process.”
“It really makes everything accessible,” said Image and Design Vice President Stella Posada.
Posada has a passion for incorporating “green” elements throughout the school and in any new construction projects. The bridge design is no exception.
What look like brick pavers covering the bridge walkway are actually faux bricks from concrete, made locally. “If it were real, it would have to be shipped in, said Posada.” Some of the stone on the side of the bridge is also partially made with concrete.
The lighting on the bridge is designed for safety, energy-efficiency and ambience, said Posada. There is a glass block with an LED light embedded into the center of the walkway, candelabra lighting above and low voltage lighting on the side of and under the bridge. “All the lighting is energy efficient,” pointed out Ikegami.
“It’s very beautiful at night,” said Posada.'
Spread the word! The more people realize that building with reused materials is possible, the better off our world is! Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida just finished a large bridge project that was focused completely on using materials that ... more -
