    • 6 Simple Steps to Achieve Laser Like Focus

      From the post:

"If you chase two rabbits, both will escape." - Unknown

Does focus elude you? Do you multi-task at the cost of focusing on your more important projects? Have you ever wished that you could have laser like focus? Ever thought, "Hmm, I wish I could just take a pill that would help me focus." Well, as we all know, there is medicine for this type of need. But I think even people who take focus-enhancing medicine will attest that unless you have a good process and discipline, you're still not going to have great success with just a pill.

Here's how you can achieve laser like focus using the strength of your mind.

    • Identify and Kill you Food Cravings

      From the post:

If we examine them closely enough, our food cravings tell us a lot about our current state of health and well-being. In fact, it can be a very powerful and life-changing exercise to purposefully become aware of our cravings, examine them, and get to the root causes of why they abound.

Most of the time cravings have nothing to do with food at all, and exist because of lack in some other area in our lives. For example, when we are unfulfilled in our career powerful cravings for certain types of food have a tendency to pop up. The same can be said when our relationships, workout regimen or sleep patterns are not up to par.

This ideology is based on a concept called primary food that I learned about at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and often holds the key to uncovering effective solutions that can help you discontinue an unhealthy relationship with food.

Imagine discovering the real reasons why you crave sweets at 3pm everyday, or what drives you to gulp down a huge jug of coffee every morning, or why you have an unyielding desire for salty potato chips every night!

Although uncovering the root causes of your cravings is the most effective method for dealing with them (and certainly worthy of a separate article) there are a number of physical activities you can engage to curb cravings when they start calling your name.

    • 6 Tips for Avoiding "Broken Windows" in Your Life

You may have heard of the “Broken Windows” theory of crime fighting, first mentioned in a 1982 Atlantic Monthly article by James Q. Wilson and George L. Kelling (and made popular by New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani in the 1990s). The example given in the article was of a building with a few broken windows. If the owner leaves the windows broken, vandals are likely to break more windows, and more, until all of the windows are broken and eventually squatters move in. In contrast, the authors point out that if the owner of the building fixes the windows quickly (within a day or week), vandals are less likely to break more windows, the building will not be destroyed by inhabitants, and it is easier to rehabilitate. Additionally, if the sidewalks are cleaned every day, litter will not accumulate.

In our personal lives, if we can deal with the little things before they begin to accumulate – if we keep our sides of the street clean - we can often improve our lives tremendously. Whereas if we let them go, they become major, escalating problems.

    • 20 Procrastination Hacks

A list of 20 great hacks to get yourself motivated and stop procrastination. An example of one of the hacks:

"30-10. This is one of my favorites. I set a timer for 30 minutes, and then work like mad until the timer goes off. Then I set the timer for 10 minutes, and do something that I really want to do (email and feeds for me, maybe Twitter or Digg for you). Repeat as often as necessary. The key is sticking to your timer — don’t stop while the 30 minutes is still going, and don’t go beyond your 10-minute break."

    • 50 Creativity Muses to Court for Fresh Ideas

Whether you are an artist, a lawyer, a student, a mother, or just about any role you can conceive, creativity is an ingredient that adds richness, variety, and value to the projects we work on. The problem is that a lot of the time we return to the same well over and over again. We use the same old approach and what happens? The well runs dry.

Creativity is one place where monogamy is not a good thing. It will pay to cheat on your safe old muse.

Here are 50 new muses you can court to find inspiration for your next great creation whether it is a work of art, a killer sales pitch, a new business idea, or a new process for making your family run more smoothly.

Use these muses any way you would like. One idea is to pick a random number then go to that muse and let it inspire you for your task at hand. Another way to pick two and mash them together for inspiration. The more difficult it is to make it fit to your project the more you will stretch and strengthen your creativity.
