Hot Fuzz star angry at US remake of Spaced
Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz star Simon Pegg has lashed out at plans to make a US version of his hit TV sitcom Spaced.
As Current.com user jcmoisan posted four months ago, Fox had ordered a pilot of the cult show, which ran from 1999 to 2001 on Britain's Channel 4. Simon Pegg and the show's co-creator Jessica Hynes don't own any rights since "when we signed our contracts ten years ago, we had neither the experience or the kudos to demand any clauses securing any control over future reversioning."
Pegg is furious that his name has been used alongside Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz director Edgar Wright's to promote the international remake, yet they've got nothing to do with it and haven't been consulted. In an official statement he said:
"My main problem with the notion of a Spaced remake is the sheer lack of respect that Granada/ Wonderland/Warner Bros have displayed in respectively selling out and appropriating our ideas without even letting us know. A decision I can only presume was made as a way of avoiding having to give us any money."
Referring to the thousands of people who have protested online and on sites like Facebook, he also thanked the show's fans for their loyalty. Click the link at the top to read his full statement or click here to watch episode 1 from the very first series of Spaced:

Star Trek/Brokeback Mountain mashup
Oh this is good. I don't think I've ever watched an entire episode of Star Trek, yet even I can tell that this is good.
