Neil Young to make return to festivals
Neil Young returns to Australia for his first festival appearance, headlining the 2009 Big Day Out on January 26 at Flemington Racecourse, and playing his own show at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl with My Morning Jacket two days later. But unlike his last gig at the bowl in 2003, he will not be touring with Crazy Horse. The current line-up features legendary pedal steel guitarist Ben Keith, bassist Rick Rosas, drummer Chad Cromwell, guitarist Anthony Crawford and singer/guitarist (and wife) Pegi Young. Having survived a brain aneurism three years ago, Young is throwing himself into his various projects. We should learn these lyrics (below) and march the streets like this great and inspiring protest march last summer in Kennebunkport, Maine.

I am going to record this song on my old cassette player now and try to get time to bring it down where people are already walking and jogging on our Baxter Boulevard in Portland.,... a few handouts of the lyrics and we have perpetual march..I personally might not have time though...I'll try to set it up and be there though tomorrow in Portland ME at Baxter Blv...if I can make it. Neil Young to release anti-war film on Internet, theatres and payTV at same time
Hoping to widen the market for a low-budget anti-war film, one distributor is testing a strategy of releasing "CSNY: Deja Vu," directed by rocker Neil Young, not just in theaters but on pay TV and the Internet on the same day.
"It's a big experiment to release this film simultaneously on all these media, with big expectations for all of them," said Howard Cohen, co-president of Roadside of the film, which chronicles a 2006 tour of the Woodstock generation band of David Crosby, Graham Nash, Stephen Stills and Young against a backdrop of anti-Iraq-war protest.
