    • Sarah Palin Rouses the Republican Convention

Searing, at times sarcastic, but always smiling, Palin used her speech Wednesday night to cast the White House as the logical place for a man of McCain's character. The 72-year-old began his national service as a 17-year-old Navy midshipman, before spending 5{ years as a Vietnam prisoner of war and the past 26 years as a member of Congress. • Huckabee: I thought McCain’s ‘bomb Iran’ song ‘was funny.’

On NBC’s “Meet the Press” yesterday, host Tim Russert played a clip from Friday of former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee joking about Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) ducking after seeing a gunman. Huckabee apologized for saying what he called “a dumb, off the cuff remark,” and pointed to similar “dumb” comments from other politicians:

"It won’t be the last dumb thing I’ve ever said. I’m sure I’ll make other comments. I think we all in politics do. Ronald Reagan had an open mike and said ‘I’m gonna launch a nuclear attack against Russia,’ I remember John McCain saying ‘Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran.’ I thought that was funny, but I mean a lot of people didn’t."

    • Amend Constitution? What Do You Think?

With Super Tuesday under way, Republican candidate Mike Huckabee told MSNBC reporters that "the GOP battle is not a two man race." Other than SC, Huckabee has placed third in various state Primaries and has only 29 delegates to Romney's and McCain's 94 and 111 respectively. Why does he still think he can win, and is he hanging in there just to draw votes away from Romney? What do you think of Huckabee's proposals to amend the Constitution to comport with HIS religion and to stop schools from teaching Evolution and having them teach Intelligent Design? Yo dudes - this is my latest video project!

You've seen Obama Girl, but we found a girl who's hot for the man of the cloth. She's got a special interest in his policy package, if you know what we're saying. Mike Huckabee had a big upset in the Iowa caucus and now he's rumored to be on McCain's VP shortlist. So if you don't think there's enough crazy out there to get him elected to office, let Huckabee girl tell you why you should be crazy about him too.

    • Huckabee's Continued Foreign Policy Ignorance

Huckabee proves his ignorance on matters of foreign policy:

"(CNN) - Mike Huckabee - whose foreign policy credentials have been under a microscope since he admitted to journalists that he was unaware of a major report on Iran's nuclear weapons program - appeared to make another minor gaffe Thursday when he seemed to suggest incorrectly that Pakistan was currently under martial law."

I guess Huckabee wasn't aware that martial law in Pakistan was lifted two weeks before the assassination. Maybe it's a minor miscommunication, but this is beginning to look like a pattern with Huckabee.

In fact, when confronted with the news of Bhutto's assassination, Huckabee mysteriously uses the situation to reinforce his "hard-line" illegal immigration stance by saying:

"We have more Pakistani illegals coming across our border than all of the other nationalities except those immediately south of the border. In light of what's happening in Pakistan it ought to give us pause."

Pretty crazy, right? Illegal Pakistanis are the second largest group of illegals... amazing that he knew that too, except that the statistics he was using were from a period of 4 years, not 1...

      http://youdecide08.foxnews.com/2007/12/28/mike-huckabee...

But anyway, why did Huckabee turn to illegal immigration during his statements on Bhutto's death? Ah... I think his senior aid explained it best:

"The Huckabee official told CNN that when he said that, Huckabee was trying to turn attention away from scrutiny of his foreign policy knowledge."

    • Huckabee unaware of NIE Iran report

As Huckabee becomes more popular, his foreign policy naivety is becoming equally more popular.

      ------------------------------------------------------

Kuhn: I don't know to what extent you have been briefed or been able to take a look at the NIE report that came out yesterday ...

      Huckabee: I'm sorry?

Kuhn: The NIE report, the National Intelligence Estimate on Iran. Have you been briefed or been able to take a look at it ?

      Huckabee: No.

Kuhn: Have you heard of the finding?

      Huckabee: No.

      ------------------------------------------------------

The story of Huckabee's ignorance of major foreign policy issues (even I knew about the NIE report, and I'm a college student) is eclipsed by further gaffes about Pakistan. Following his acknowledgment of not knowing about the NIE report, Huckabee went on MSNBC's Morning Joe in order to explain away his 'misunderstanding'. However, while trying to cast aside his own mis-statements, Huckabee manages to make himself look even more ignorant.

Now that we've bungled up foreign policy so much during the Bush administration, do we really need another ignorant President?

    • Huckabee defends Homophobia

Huckabee uses his love of family as an excuse for his homophobic stance against gay rights. He is afraid gay rights will hurt family, and he says that family is the first human institution and the foundation of all other institutions. Of course historical records describing the origin of marriage do not exist, so it is impossible to prove or disprove Huckabee's belief. Huckabee fails to recognize the thousands of gay and lesbian families in American that are happy and healthy and have in no way degraded the family structure. • Homophobic Huckabee

Mike Huckabee is waiting for Moses to okay gays. He said in a 2006 speech, "Until Moses comes down with two stone tablets from Brokeback Mountain saying he's changed the rules, let's keep it like it is," he said.

While governor of Arkansas he was opposed to gay and lesbian foster parents. He tried to make it illegal, but his policy was challenged in the Arkansas supreme court. Huckabee lost. He later pushed through legislation to make it illigal for unmarried cohabitants to act as foster parents. That law remains.

He wanted to quarantine HIV patience.

He wrote a children's book in 1998 that blamed a recent school shooting on, "abortion, environmentalism, AIDS, pornography, drug use and homosexual activism."

Huckabee believes sodomy should be illegal. (Sodomy is any sexual act that does not result in conception.)

And finally, in 1992 Huckabee said, "that homosexuality was an "aberrant, unnatural and sinful lifestyle" that posed "a dangerous public health risk."

Huckabee currently leads in Iowa Republican Polls among likely caucus participants.

    • Chuck [heart] Huckabee

Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has become a real contender in Iowa. This campaign add featuring Chuck Norris has been airing in the Hawkeye state and it plays up the former Arkansas governor/ordained baptist minister/weight-loss icon's affable qualities.

Personally, I prefer the cattier adds that focus more on disinformation ;-) But with classic lines like, "There's no chin behind Chuck Norris's beard, only another fist," this is a nice change of pace.
