I am afraid jihad it is more of a way for people to channel aggression that is formed from poverty and social issues in some communities or governments, than anything truly holy... so sad how people are used..
I wonder if something as simple as sports were widely encouraged, if more frustration would be vented in a healthy way?
Then again, people might wake up and realize their religious leaders - of all people - are using them as pawns, if they learned strategy.. sports does teach that. Oh man, that sucks.

Scolari takes lead of Chelsea
Portuguese football coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has been appointed as the new manager of Chelsea, with him officially taking the position on July 1st, two days after the Euro 2008 final.
According to reports, Scolari was always Chelsea's number one choice to fill Avram Grant's boots, but has insisted no more discussions should take place until his current team, Portugal, have concluded their run in the Euro 2008 tournament.
Speaking in a statement last night, Chelsea FC said:
"Out of respect for his current role as head coach of the Portuguese national team, and to ensure minimum disruption to this work, there will be no further comment from Chelsea FC nor from Felipe about his new role until his employment with us commences."

It has been confirmed that following his departure from Manchester City , Sven's off to Mexico to become the national team's manager.
Speculation over his departure from Man. City was mounting, after the club's new owner, Thaksin Shinawatra, was reportedly unhappy about Sven's success, despite him finishing in a reasonable position in the Premier League and also qualifying for the UEFA Cup.

England cruise to victory over Trinidad and Tobago
Fabio Capello's team coasted to victory over a Trinidad and Tobago team who had vowed to gain some revenge for their dismissal from the 2006 World Cup.
The opening goal came from Gareth Barry after a neat move between Stuart Downing and Wayne Bridge, followed four minutes later with Jermain Defoe's goal taking it to 2-0.
The third came after a Wayne Bridge cross fell nicely for Defoe to get his second.
The game saw Capello bring in some lesser known England players for the friendly, testing out the 'fringe' players who he has not had a chance to see play for their country yet, as well as giving David Beckham the captaincy.

Following what can only be described as a season full of let downs, John Terry missing out on being able to captain his country could've turned him into a big sobbing baby again.

Manchester United have won the UEFA Champions League after an epic red vs. blue penalty shootout following a tense 1-1 game.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Man Utd with a neatly headed ball in to the far corner, followed by a Frank Lampard equallser on the stroke of half-time slotting it past Van der Saar.
Five minutes before the end of extra time, Didier Drogba got sent off for attempting a cheeky little slap on Man Utd's Vidic, a price that proved to be a costly mistake in the penalty shoot-out which saw Manchester United take it 6-5 in penalties.

Security fears over all-English final
Security worries and concerns over the state of the pitch are dominating the build-up to Wednesday's all-English Champions League final between Manchester United and Chelsea in Moscow.
English fans have already started arriving in the Russian capital with an estimated 42,000 expected to make the trip.
It is the first time two English clubs have reached the final of European football's premier competition. But that has raised fears that English fans' reputation as troublemakers could lead to violence and confrontations with heavy-handed Russian riot police.
Those concerns have been heightened by events following last week's UEFA Cup final in Manchester where hundreds of fans of Scottish side Rangers clashed with police in scenes described by a senior officer as "sickening."
The late kickoff time in Moscow -- 10.45 p.m. local time -- has also fueled fears that some English fans will have time to indulge in their customary heavy drinking before the match. To counter that, Moscow has imposed tight restrictions on the sale of alcohol.
Fans arriving at Moscow's airports were being handed pamphlets containing advice on how to behave, CNN's Don Riddell said. Eighteen British police officers are also working with Moscow police to identify potential troublemakers while restrictions on known hooligans are in place to prevent them leaving the UK.
Up to 6,000 security forces will be deployed across Moscow on Wednesday. Around 700 buses will be used to take fans straight from the city's airport to the Luzhniki Stadium to limit the risk of trouble in the city center. Rival fans will also be steered into separate areas in the buildup to kickoff.
"Supporters are being urged to enjoy themselves but to respect the local customs," Riddell said.
Russia has relaxed its usually strict entry criteria for foreign visitors, waivering visa requirements for ticketholders flying in and out of the country on the day of the match.
Meanwhile, there were concerns Tuesday about the state of the pitch which was ripped up and re-laid just two weeks ago. The grass surface has been put down over an artificial pitch underneath but the English groundsman in charge of preparing it for the final said the turf had not had time to bed in.
"It is less good than the average Premier League pitch, it's true," Tony Frost said. "But it is an awful lot better than the plastic pitch underneath, which was like playing on concrete."
United go into Wednesday's match as English champions, having edged Chelsea by just two points to win the Premier League title last month. Inspired by their brilliant Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo, United have a reputation as one of Europe's most entertaining sides.
Manager Alex Ferguson, one of the most successful coaches of the modern era, is hoping to emulate his achievement in 1999 when United won the European Cup and the English league title in the same season. United also won the European Cup in 1968.
For United, there is also the added poignancy that reaching the final coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Munich air crash in which 23 people including eight team members died on their way home from a European Cup match in Belgrade.
Chelsea, who have been United's main challenger in England since Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich bought the London club in 2003, have never reached the Champions League final before. Premiership footballer Joey Barton, jailed for six months
According to reports, the Newcastle United player has been jailed for six months after he admitted assault and affray whilst on bail for two other crimes.
The judge described Barton's crime as a "violent and cowardly act," in which he punched one man to the ground, straddled him and then 'repeatedly punched him in the face,' as well as hitting a 16-year-old so hard he needed dental treatment.

A footballer gave an apprentice player his £30,000 Mercedes car - for polishing his boots.
Birmingham City star Olivier Kapo, 27, threw the keys to boot boy James McPike as an end-of-season present.
He even insisted on paying for a year's insurance when James, 20, said he could not afford it, reports The Sun
The French midfielder, who earns £1.5million a year, then drove James home to hand over his spare keys and log book.
A club source said James had asked him for his boots as a souvenir.
The source said: "Kapo had taken them home, but James perked up when he got keys."

Arsenal star, and Czech Republic team captain, Tomas Rosicky has been ruled out of Euro 2008 due to injury.
The latest word is that a surgery can no longer be avoided despite earlier reports that injuries sustained against Newcastle had improved.

Non-EU Football stars hit by new immigration rules
New immigration laws in Britain could see foreign footballers having to hastily enrol in English lessons if they want to continue playing in the Premier League.
According to Sky, non-EU footballers "will be banned from playing for British clubs unless they can speak English," but will not be alone as they will be among groups restricted under the new rules.
The new immigration rules are being implemented in an attempt to reduce the amount of UK migrants every year by around 30,000
