    • 2008 Monolith Festival

      Vampire Weekend, Justice, Atmosphere, The Cribs, TV on the Radio, Band of Horses and more will be rocking the beautiful Red Rocks Amphitheater September 13th and 14th this year. There will be over 50 artists and 5 stages for them to throw down on!

      Just a few miles outside of Denver, Colorado, Red Rocks has been voted time and time again as the best outdoor venue. Check out the 2nd annual festival if you can. 2-day passes are $110 and single day passes are $60.

    • Foals concert at the Troubadour

      I dig them, ace Oxford band from our friends at Sub Pop. Reminiscent of Bloc Party and label-mates The Rapture, they made a rather insipid Los Angeles audience sway and bob - a rare happening, newsworthy of a post.

      I posted about Foals last week, and here I've uploaded some pictures from last night (forgive the grain) and an accompanying YouTube video I took then retouched to brighten it up a bit.

    • Bestival 2008 line up announced

      As well as the likes of CSS, Foals and St. Vincent, music from the 80s is dominating this years Bestival line up. Indie legends My Bloody Valentine will headline the Friday night and fellow blasts from the past Gary Numan, The Human League, 808 State and Chaz & Dave will play over the weekend.

      Others big names playing over the weekend include Aphex Twin, The Breeders, CSS, George Clinton And Funkadelic/Parliament, Gary Numan, The Human League, Pendulum, 808 State, Foals, Lee Scratch Perry and The Wedding Present.

      Also playing live will be Metronomy, The Cuban Brothers, The Count & Sinden, Sebastien Tellier, Transglobal Underground, Jamie Lidell, Two Gallants, King Creosote, Chas & Dave, Ladyhawke, Ebony Bones, Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong, Baaba Mal, Jeffrey Lewis, The Duke Spirit, Teenagers, Crystal Castles, Ox Eagle Lion Man, These New Puritans, Tawiah, Red Snapper, Jon Hopkins, Lets Wrestle, Little Dragon, Subway, Imperial Leisure, Gideon Conn, Zombie Zombie, George Pringle, Subgiant, The Restaurant, Cage The Elephant, Vessels, The Ghost, Peter Von Poehl, St Vincent, Fuck Buttons, Drew, Micah P Hinson, Fleet Foxes, FM Belfast, Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Dan le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip, Grand National,

Many more will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

      Bestival takes place at Robin Hill Park, Isle Of Wight, from 5-7 September.

    • Music News: Foals to Sign to US Label Sub Pop!

      Oxford five-piece Foals are set to be US stable-mates of CSS, The Shins, Iron and Wine, and Band of Horses. The band, who are signed to Transgressive Records in their native UK, release their debut single 'Balloons' on December 10th.
