Cliff Miffed
It's not everyday that you hear Franco and Cliff Richard referred to in the same sentence, but here you have it.
It was claimed last night by Spanish TV director Fernandez Vila that Franco used his weight in the 1968 Eurovision Song Contest to push his country's entry 'La La La' to victory.
Vila announced that Spain's success was secured by Spanish TV execs bribing other countries in exchange for buying TV series from them. Franco is framed in this in wanting to "enhance Spain's international reputation", and Cliff lost to Spain by one point.
However, the last laugh is with Cliff as he continues to bask in the international success of 'Congratulations', as 'La La La' no longer features anywhere. It seems not even evil dictator Franco can keep down the might of Cliff. Nicely done Cliff. Have you ever tried to release a Christmas song?
Did you know that the big chain stores wont stock any singles that are not top 20?
so how does a song get to be top 20 if no-one can buy it?
Well it takes a whole lot of work and a whole lotta determination.
This song Santa's beard comes out of a shed in the singers back garden, the aim is to wish every one a Green Christmas. Hopefully make a few people think about what they do over the festive season. But mostly so Snip and Clip can go on helping our children learn about the environment in the future.
