The Fantasy of Emulation Part 1
Emulators aren't something completely new, gamers from around the world know what they are and what they are capable of doing. Some would argue that emulators steal profits from the companies that work hard to make the games, seeing as the software to get emulators and games is free in some websites, but for others, such as myself, I see it has an opportunity to relive and play some old classic games I missed out when they were relatively new. All that to say that Emulators make a lot possible, including Flash projects like the one I'm featuring today.
Crossover platforming games have always been talked about with games such as Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Mario and Sonic. X-Men vs. Street Fighter was the 1st one that caught my attention, being able to combine the mutant powers of Cyclops with the Fighting power of Ryu was perfect. The series expanded across several platforms and games, Capcom vs. SNK, Marvel Super Heroes which focused on the heroes of the Marvel industry, Marvel vs. Capcom is one of the greatest games to date next to Nintendo's Super Smash Bros., coming out with the next addition Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which is finally settling the Mario vs. Sonic debate.
One series that was never explored however was Street Fighter vs. Mortal Combat, due to their graphic differences and fighting styles, it would difficult to make a complete game without changing one or the other, until...Flash Kit and Emulators came along, being able to take sprites and frames from games using the emulator and then, with a lot of work with Flash Kit as well as other flash media, the two combat games can be combined to make awesome playable games as well as movies. The one I'm featuring is called MK vs. SF 3, produced made by Proxicide. This movie is a bit lenghtly, but combined to the two fighters elegantly to the point of brillance. This is the thrid installment which improves upon the latter two, and does have some what of a plot by time the second one was done. Needless to say, it was beautiful to witness such work. Emulators aren't something completely new, gamers from around the world know what they are and what they are capable of doing. So... more
