She may be old enough to be Madonna's mother, but Tina Turner proved she was the queen of pop with a triumphant return to stage.
Eight years after her farewell tour the star kicked off her comeback in front of a crowd of 20,000.
Miss Turner, who is 69 next month, showed she was in remarkable shape with a series of thigh-skimming dresses and skin tight trousers.
There was not a trace of cellulite as she jumped around the stage with her trademark pins on show.
In contrast to Madonna, whose overly muscular body has raised eyebrows, the soul legend has opted for a more natural look.
One fan said: 'I just cannot believe she is pushing 70. She looks and sounds fantastic.'
The star sang hits such as What's Love Got to Do With It, Private Dancer and Steamy Windows.

Drag 'Tina Turner' attacks girl for giggling
A cross-dressing Tina Turner impersonator attacked a female teenage Scots holidaymaker for giggling during his drag act.
Twenty-year old Joshua Duffus, aka Armani D'Vyne, leapt off the stage and dragged Emma Lyon, 16, by the wrists across the dancefloor in Portugal. He then clambered back to finish belting out Turner hits such as Private Dancer and Simply The Best before being jeered off.
Duffus, who claimed Emma and a friend were mocking him by impersonating his act, was last week ordered to pay Emma 80 euros (£65) and fined 300 euros (£240) for the bust-up in Albufeira on the Algarve.
Emma's dad, George, 46, of Ayr, said: "It's a total disgrace. This was a totally unprovoked attack and he has virtually walked away scot-free "We had to fly back to Portugal for court which cost £1000 for flights and he got away with a 300 fine." Tina Turner comeback tour after 8 years (video)
The “Queen” of singing Tina Turner is coming back to kick up her heels on the stage for a new tour after an 8-year break. The tour will launch on October 1st at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO.
Tina revealed the news to her good friend Oprah Winfrey during a recent taped interview in Las Vegas. The Oprah segment will air on May 8th and will officially announce her comeback. Three dozen show venues are already booked in North America and more will likely be booked in Europe and other international sites.
