Ralph Nader: The Pro-Solar, Anti-Nuclear Energy Policy That Rocks!
Nuclear power plants operate by releasing radioactivity into our air, water and land. "Nuclear Power is a cancer industry with the by-product of electricity". DR. HELEN CALDICOTT The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) report affirms that even extremely low doses of ionizing radiation pose a health and cancer risk: and that no threshold exists below which such exposures can be treated as harmless. Remember the Lieberman-Warner Climate Change Bill will be voted on the senate floor next week (June 2-8, 2008). The nuclear industry is asking for over $500 Billion of our taxpayer dollars in subsidies for their dirty, cancer causing industry. CALL YOUR SENATORS NOW! and demand they oppose any provisions or amendments to the bill. Jan for Gore seems to be saying to oppose the whole bill (search her for info). I understand it's not enough but is it better to have something than nothing? Needs clarification....Jan for Gore help us! CAPITOL SWITCHBOARD: (202) 224-3121 "I do not support any increased reliance on nuclear energy....i disagree with those who would classify nuclear energy as clean or renewable." AL GORE Nuclear power plants do not work in a global warming world. Recently reactors had to be shut down due to excessive heat that could have lead to a melt down; algae growth in lakes clogging the intake pipes; drought (lack of water for cooling the plants); and excessively hot discharged radioactive water into our lakes and rivers. Obama is so wrong to support nuclear power. The time is now to change the energy policy in this country. As Ralph says, there is only so much money and it needs to be given to subsidize solar power and other renewables, not nuclear. Nuclear power plants operate by releasing radioactivity into our air, water and land. "Nuclear Power is a cancer industry with th... more

Please help stop the nuclear subsidies. Call your senators NOW!

Please call/ fax or write your senators and say NO to new nukes and yes to renewables. (It only takes a few seconds). Thank You for helping to save the planet. McCain Calls For 700+ New Nuclear Plants and 7 Yucca Mountains Costing $4 Trillion
Unbelievable! And this is in addition to his 100 year war... He must be suffering from early dementia, confusion... Unfortunately Obama is pro-nuclear and voted for the Bush/Cheney Energy bill. I sure hope Obama doesn't go for this too. Unbelievable! And this is in addition to his 100 year war... He must be suffering from early dementia, confusion... Unfortunately Obam... more

YEAH! A carbon-free, nuclear-free future is near!
This does not include the costs of uranium mining, refining, decommissioning, waste transportation, 'dump' storage with forever vigilance, health/cancer woes and flora and fauna destruction. If you add it up, atomic power is out of the ballpark. I'm glad the nuclear industry is finally catching on. GOD BLESS YOU AL GORE, YOU ARE INDEED SAVING THE PLANET!
"I do not support any increased reliance on nuclear energy. Moreover, I have disagreed with those who would classify nuclear energy as clean or renewable. In fact, you will note that the electricity restructuring legislation proposed by the (Clinton) administration specifically excluded both nuclear and large-scale hydro-energy, and instead promoted increased investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy. It is my view that climate change policies should do the same." AL GORE "Every dollar invested in increased efficiency can save some seven times as much energy as can be produced by a dollar invested in nuke power." ROCKY MOUNTAIN INSTITUTE "Nuclear power is the Achilles heel that can doom all attempts to save this planet." HARVEY WASSERMAN "I do not support any increased reliance on nuclear energy. Moreover, I have disagreed with those who would classify nuclear ener... more

Thanks so much Obama supporters! Do we have to pollute every square inch of land, every molecule of water and every breath that we take? Obama supports new nuke plants.
