Burlesque Queen Tempest Storm: Still Strippin’ Away at 80!!
Old burlesque strippers never die, they just keep on hoofin' away. At 80 years-old, Tempest Storm is still performing her famous burlesque strip act in Las Vegas, Reno, Palm Springs, Miami and Carnegie Hall. And when Tempest performs on-stage, she carries herself as the headliner, a very classy star.
Her act remains symbolic of the old, golden days of strippers in burlesque. Tempest knows nothing about that pole-dancing stuff and would never even think about putting her derriere in a man’s face. Her stage prop of choice is still an orchid-colored boa, perhaps the occasional velvet divan.
At the age of 80, Tempest is rarely sadly nostalgic about the past. There’s no doubt in her own mind that she is still every bit as sexy as she was in the olden days of her burlesque career.

Cyd Charisse, last great Hollywood dancer, dead at 87
Dancer and actress Cyd Charisse, whose legs were insured for a million dollars in the heyday of the Hollywood musical, died at her home in Los Angeles on Tuesday, her agent said. She was 87.
Scott Stander said Charisse, a regular partner of legends Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire, suffered a heart attack at her home and "never recovered." She died at 12.15 am (0715 GMT).
"We're all just heartbroken," said Stander, describing Charisse as "one of the classiest ladies you would have ever met."
Charisse rose to fame as the big studio musical was fading from view, playing the vamp who entices Kelly in "Singin' in the Rain."

McDonald's cheering team sets Guinness record
McDonald's, a worldwide Olympic partner for the Beijing Olympics, mobilized the world's largest cheering team for the Beijing Olympics on Wednesday.
Chanting the slogan "Wo jiu xihuan Zhongguo ying," which roughly translates to "I love it when China wins," over 1,200 young people selected from a nationwide campaign danced in unison for five minutes at the National Olympic Sports Center, setting a Guinness world record. The activity was intended to boost pre-Games enthusiasm.

World largest Ballet Class Guinness World Record
Dancers of all levels and ages succeeded in breaking the Guinness World Record for the Largest Ballet Class. The Oregon Ballet Foundation beat South African Ballet Theatre's record of 551 by 27 participants at McArthur Court, foundation member Megan Murphy said.
The foundation hosted its first attempt at breaking the record last year during National Dance Week, but it fell short of the record. Prior to the class' start, Mac Court came to life with classical music, 35 bars and 578 thrilled dance students.
