The Weinstein Company, one of Hollywood's biggest independent film companies, has completed a separate agreement with striking writers, according to Harvey Weinstein, the company's co-founder.

Weinstein said Thursday that his New York-based company had come to terms with the writers guilds on a deal similar to the one reached last week by United Artists, the first independent movie company to reach an interim contract with the writers, who have been on strike since Nov. 5.
