    • Fox News Declares Obama Landslide A "Split"

      This video is great LOL.

This video says it all about Fox News. I love the fact you can hear the patrons mocking the reporter.

Who was it that once said "Never let the facts get in the way of a good story." We need that person here.

Though I consider myself conservative, when it comes to foreign policy, there’s a sharp divide between my beliefs and the current practice of the Republican Party. I certainly can’t claim to agree with Senator Obama 100%, but I find his rhetoric regarding Iran and Pakistan far less scary than “Bomb, Bomb Iran-McCain”. Yesterday on Fox News, Sean Hannity and The American Prospect’s Robert Kuttner had a tense exchange about the election. As Kuttner offered advice for Sen. • Fox's Megyn Kelly works over McCain spokesperson

CNN's Campbell Brown stumped McCain spokesperson Tucker "Anchorman" Bounds with a bunch of questions to which he could provide no straight answer. But that was before the "Hey! Has Anyone Noticed That McCain Lies All The Time" Media Backlash of 2008. Now, Bounds cannot even obtain safe quarter at Fox News.

This morning, Megyn Kelly roadblocked several of Bounds' attempts at glib explanations, ordering Bounds to "stay on point," relating that "every independent analyst who took a look at" McCain's contention that Obama would be raising taxes on the middle class noted that "that's not true," suggesting that McCain "level with the American people," and even providing pushback on the McCain camp's misleading contentions on an age-appropriate sex-education bill that Obama voted for in the Illinois State Senate.

"I looked at the language of the bill," Kelly stated, "Age appropriate sex education about child predators and inappropriate touching. What is wrong with that?"

    • Fox host doesn't try to 'hide his racism'

When Fox's Neil Cavuto garnered the coveted "Worst Person in the World Title" from MSNBC's Keith Olbermann on Monday it wasn't the first time, but Cavuto's latest misstep exceeds even his own previous appearance in the slot.

In an attempt to blame the Democrats in Congress for the current economic meltdown, Cavuto told Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-CA) last week that he should have warned bankers about possible problems with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

"I'm just saying," Cavuto insisted, "I don't remember a clarion call that said, 'Fannie and Freddie are a disaster. Loaning to minorities and risky folks is a disaster.'"

"Wow," commented Olbermann. "Usually they hide their racism a little bit better at Fox."

The two runners-up to Cavuto for Monday's Worst Person title were Fox's Steve Doocy -- for claiming comedian-turned-politician Al Franken must have broken some law by giving Saturday Night Live the idea for a tv sketch lampooning John McCain -- and a South Carolina GOP official who suggested that Sarah Palin's family problems might make his own drunk driving arrests less of an issue with the voters. Raw Story reported on both incidents yesterday.

This video is from MSNBC's Countdown, broadcast September 22, 2008.

Fox News has fired Jessica Herzberg, the freelance producer responsible for the "Obama's baby mama" chyron from June, according to Chickaboomer.

In June, during a segment on Fox News' "America's Election HQ," a chyron read: "Outraged Liberals: Stop Picking On Obama's Baby Mama!"

At the time, Fox News' Senior Vice President of Programming, Bill Shine, acknowledged Herzberg's poor judgment, saying, "A producer on the program exercised poor judgment in using this chyron during the segment."

    • Fox Doesn’t Want You to Know About McCain’s Role in Keating Five

      ‘Cut his mike,’ producer suggests

The Keating Five scandal, and John McCain’s role in it, has received relatively little mention in presidential campaign coverage, and at least one Fox News host seems dedicated to keeping it that way.

Appearing Thursday morning on Fox & Friends, radio host Mike Papatino tried to remind viewers about McCain’s intervention with federal regulators on behalf of real estate mogul Charles Keating, who was trying to avoid regulations of a savings and loan he owned during the S&L crisis of the 1980s.

F&F’s Steve Doocy told Papatonio to "pipe down," called him "rude" and demanded he "cut it out." A show producer could be overheard saying "cut his mike."

As Papatonio tries one last time to explain the details of the Keating Five scandal, Doocy again cuts him off.

"This is not the History Channel," he says.

Papatonio’s apparent crime was interrupting fellow guest Michael Reagan, the conservative radio host, who was arguing that it would be unfair to judge McCain based on his actions 20 years ago.

"It has everything to do with what’s happening today," Papatonio said before being told to pipe down.

Regardless of whether Papatonio was being rude, preserving an orderly debate certainly could not have been Doocy’s goal in silencing the guest. Not two minutes before his admonition that Papatonio was "being rude," Doocy repeatedly interrupted his guest to deliver talking points that might as well have been written by the McCain campaign.

At least three times Doocy interrupted Papatonio as he argued that McCain’s political gambit to "suspend" his campaign and delay Friday’s debate was more a response to his flagging poll numbers than an attempt to fix the economic crisis. Doocy wasn’t buying it.

"If Barack Obama wants to do so much for the economy, why doesn’t he go to his day job and work in the us senate?" he asked Reagan, cutting off Papatino’s argument.

    • Kerry faces off with O’Reilly over bailout bill

“Many of us have been warning about these problems,” Senator John Kerry told Fox’s Bill O’Reilly during a discussion of Monday’s failed $700 billion Wall Street bailout vote in the House of Representatives. “And, if you go back and look at the record, you’ll see it very clearly. In 2004, as a presidential candidate, I personally talked about how we needed to have stronger oversight on [Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac], about the housing market, about deregulation and the excess of deregulation.” Senator Kerry also said that efforts to prosecute predatory lending have been blocked since the turn of the century.

While 61% of House Democrats voted for the legislation, 66% of Republicans voted against it, with a total tally of 205-228. “And just because their feelings were hurt by something that [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi said, is not an excuse to screw the guy on Main Street and his savings account, to screw small businesses, to screw companies across the country. It was an act of cowardice and selfishness and pure politics.”

“This is not a rescue of Wall Street, this is a rescue of Main Street,” Kerry closed.

      The White House is busted!!

Ex-White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan exposed Fox News as a propaganda tool for the White House on Chris Mathews Hardball.

Fox in the White House: It is one of those things you kind of assume to be true all along... and yet are shocked when hard confirmation actually comes. Our fourth story tonight, from the former White House press secretary himself, word that the Bush White House routinely sent--and as far as we know, still sends-- literal talking points to Fox News for its primetime propagandists, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and others... to spout, as if ventriloquist dummies, as if they had thought of it themselves, as if they had come to those opinions independently, as if there had been a process either fair... or balanced.

    • Who Do Democrats Hate More?

FLAT ROCK, MI — If forced to choose between John McCain, George Bush, and Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin, Democrats may have the strongest distaste for the Alaska Governor, if crowd reactions on the trail are any indication.

In North Carolina yesterday, boos rained down at the mere mention of Palin’s name, as Joe Biden said she and McCain were against government backing for retraining workers who lose their jobs.

At Biden’s anti-McCain speech this morning, his one line about Palin got a bigger reaction than when he railed against George Bush’s broken promises and failed policies.

And in Flat Rock today, introductory speaker Barbara Theaker called Palin a “bucket of fluff,” as Biden stood on stage, head held in his hands in mock dismay.

“These slimy, slimy Republican ads that have the audacity to say that Barack Obama is not ready to serve as the President of the United States? Puhlease. Give me a break,” Theaker said. “I shudder to think if, God forbid, John McCain should win the presidency, and if something should tragically befall this man, and this woman would move into the presidency.”

Celebrities like Matt Damon, Pamela Anderson, and Lindsey Lohan have spoken out against McCain’s choice in recent days as well — even if the candidates themselves are doing their best to avoid attacking her, believing that a) it fuels the massive amounts of attention that are already being paid to the Palin phenomenon, and b) they’re best served to take on the man at the top of the ticket who would actually make the policies voters care about.

    • FOX using the same attacks on Obama they used against Kerry

Did you see Barack Obama go on The O'Reilly Factor last night—right into the belly of the beast? While we didn't want Obama to appear on FOX initially, he wisely chose the same night John McCain delivered his RNC speech (the same night FOX received some of its highest ratings) to make an appearance. Talk about stealing the GOP's thunder!

Obama was no doubt trying to appeal to conservative voters, since 88% of FOX viewers voted Republican in 2004. But FOX won't let their conservative base go without a fight. That's why O'Reilly needled and interrupted Obama, trying to get him to simplify many of his answers—a far cry from the softballs O'Reilly lobbed at many prominent Republicans like Rudy Giuliani in the past. And that's why FOX has been attacking Obama with the same relentless smear tactics that they used against John Kerry four years ago. Watch them use the exact same attacks.

    • Obama to appear on 'The O’Reilly Factor' Thursday

CHICAGO — Before Senator John McCain delivers his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention on Thursday, Senator Barack Obama will make a marquee appearance of his own.

Call it counter-intuitive. He will appear on “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News Channel.

For Mr. Obama, it will be the first time in his presidential candidacy that he’s on Bill O’Reilly’s prime-time program. The appearance is intended to put Mr. Obama before a conservative audience, one week after drawing 40 million TV viewers at his own acceptance speech.

Mr. Obama has had a strained history with the network, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch. Is this a sign of burying the hatchet or simply politically smart programming? Stay tuned.

    • Anti-War protesters have every right to yell "F**k FOX News!"

The DNC is barely under way in Denver, but protesters are already making themselves heard. Their message: "Fuck corporate media!" and "Fuck FOX News!"

That's the response FOX's Griff Jenkins receives when he throws himself into a swarm of marching anti-war protesters. Jenkins plays incredulous well in this clip, asking over and over again why the protesters don't believe in freedom of speech—the irony of ironies, considering these protesters are exercising their first amendment rights with every step they take.

As Jenkins is drowned out by a "Fuck FOX News!" chorus and disappears among a sea of middle fingers flipped at the camera, he cries out, "That's just not necessary." Au contraire, Mr. Jenkins. These calls are entirely necessary, considering FOX has served as the propaganda arm of the Bush administration for the last eight years.

FOX has been Bush's biggest cheerleader in his war with Iraq. FOX joined the corporate media in drumming up support for the war, preying on a vulnerable nation by drawing the false connection between Iraq and 9/11 and touting the administration's so-called "evidence" of WMDs. Even as other corporate outlets realized their awful mistake when evidence proved the administration had no justification to go into Iraq, FOX offered no mea culpa. Instead, the network continued to pretend the war was succeeding, when the reality was it had become a brutal quagmire that continues to this day. But FOX didn't stop with Iraq. Oh, no. For more than a year now, the network has been war-whooping over Iran as well.

FOX is guilty of war- and fearmongering, spreading the administration's lies at every turn, and smearing those who try to set the record straight. So "Fuck FOX News?" I'd say these anti-war protesters get the message just right.
