SHUT UP... BE HAPPY
Released in 1989, this track featuring Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedy's is from Ice T's Freedom of Speech... Just Watch What You Say album... (in my opinion, his best... Sire records). The lyrics are is becoming more and more valid and eerily familiar.
Take the time to let this buffer...
Listen closely to the whole track and comment. I've been playing this track (this album) for 20 years, and it still holds up... because it's closer to reality now, then it was then. And you thought US media was corrupt... Check out Canada.
Granted in the States you have the left and right, and both have extremes. In Canada, our media just blocks out those they don't like.
Just a note the Bloc Québécois does NOT run for seats outside of the province of Quebec, yet they are included in NATIONAL debates. The Green Party runs candidates in EVERY riding (district) yet they will not be included.
Let the word be known Canadian media is AT LEAST as corrupt as the US media and so much more... FOX and MSNBC my spin the news to make it suit their agenda, in Canada we go a step further and censor the political party totally.

The Palin Project
Okay, the video and sound are crappy (shot on my RCA EZ201, so what're ya gonna do?), the performance could be better, and the whole thing could be considered a cheap shot. But I woke up this morning and had to get this off my chest, so enjoy it for what it is.
As always, your comments are invited. Okay, the video and sound are crappy (shot on my RCA EZ201, so what're ya gonna do?), the performance could be better, and the wh... more -
Can America be saved?
What happened to America? When I was growing up, I was told the same thing as most citizens- that our country was founded on freedom and justice, that everyone was equal and that we were the best country in the world. That last part particularly got recited by authority figures, perhaps meant to console us as we grew up and read of the bloody and questionable history of our country. Even if it wasn't really true, we at least had the feeling that we were a nation of progress and hope in the world.
So was I just flat out lied to, are my eyes opening, or did something happen in the last few years (read: BUSH ADMIN) to completely fuck the image of America? Other countries and sadly our own citizens seem to sneer at "American Values" because they have come to represent something dangerous, repressed and greedy. Religion prevails in our legal system despite the separation of church and state, equal rights are not given to every citizen, our general understanding of science is shameful, and our president is the butt of the world's joke.
Is it as bad as I think? Do we have hope to regain our glory or perhaps gain some anew? Are we the next empire collapse, or can America be saved? What happened to America? When I was growing up, I was told the same thing as most citizens- that our country was founded on freedom a... more -

$How much is Life Worth in America?$
$$$ -How much do you think human life is worth?
$$$ -Can you put a dollar sign on it?
$$$ -How can we measure the value of life, if at all?
EXCERPTS:
"The "value of a statistical life" is $6.9 million in today's dollars, the Environmental Protection Agency reckoned in May — a drop of nearly $1 million from just five years ago.
Though it may seem like a harmless bureaucratic recalculation, the devaluation has real consequences.
When drawing up regulations, government agencies put a value on human life and then weigh the costs versus the lifesaving benefits of a proposed rule. The less a life is worth to the government, the less the need for a regulation, such as tighter restrictions on pollution.
...The other study put the number between $2 million and $3.3 million. The co-author of that study, Laura Taylor of North Carolina State University, said her figure was lower because it emphasized differences in pay for various risky jobs, not just risky industries as a whole....
EPA took portions of each study and essentially split the difference — a decision two of the agency's advisory boards faulted or questioned.
"This sort of number-crunching is basically numerology," said Granger Morgan, chairman of EPA's Science Advisory Board and an engineering and public policy professor at Carnegie Mellon University. "This is not a scientific issue."
Other, similar calculations by the Bush administration have proved politically explosive. In 2002, the EPA decided the value of elderly people was 38 percent less than that of people under 70. After the move became public, the agency reversed itself." $$$ -How much do you think human life is worth? $$$ -Can you put a dollar sign on it? ... more -

Canadian government to poison environment
16 Canadian lakes are slated to be officially but quietly "reclassified" as toxic dump sites for mines. The lakes include prime wilderness fishing lakes from B.C. to Newfoundland.

BIG MEDIA chooses to ignore this issue.
It's a sad commentary on our system of values when genocide is ignored while congressional committees are dealing with really important issues... like cheating in children’s games.
