WHAT IS COURAGE...???
People have told me, I have great courage,
i don't see it that way,
I am not afraid of the unknown,
I can only be competent, ready and aware.
I believe courage is never questioning the above made statement,
and in that, I am still challenged.
What is courage to you....??? People have told me, I have great courage, i don't see it that way, I am not afraid of the unknown, ... more -

THE AMERICAN IDOL VOTING PUBLIC!!!
February 19, 2008
The American voters seem very caught up in SLOGANS. Furthermore, they are very easily draw into idolizing their candidates, i.e. giving them Super Star stature, rather than being interested in the "substance" that will affect their, their children, and grandchildrens lives. I would like to call them the American Idol voting idiots.
Let me give you two examples:
In 2000, the Republicans, Conservatives, Independents and some Democrats were disgusted after Monicagate. Karl Rove understood this well. Bush's Brain (Rove) imbibed in Dubya, who was a very disciplined candidate, to repeat in parrot like fashion at every campaign rally or speech with, "I WILL BRING HONOR AND DIGNITY TO THE WHITE HOUSE".
WHAT WE GOT WAS ALL HAT AND NO CATTLE - AND A VERY DANGEROUS MEGALOMANIAC WHO WANTED TO BEST HIS FATHER, AND PICK UP THE MANTLE OF RONALD REAGAN TO GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS A TRANSFORMATIVE PRESIDENT. HE HAS BEEN TRANSFORMATIVE ALL RIGHT - LEAVING OUR CONSTITUTION, OUR FEDERAL BUDGET, OUR ECONOMY, AND OUR WORLD STANDING IN TATTERS.
Now, we come to 2008, and the people are weary and want change after 8-years of Bush-Cheney, and again we have a self-made man (no doubt, no Dubya), who understands what the people are yearning for, and so, now we have slogans such as:
"CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN"
"REAL CHANGE",
"YES, WE CAN!"
And, now the democrats, liberals, independents and disaffected republicans are having their "Sanjaya moment" and swooning over someone who could well be an EMPTY SUIT.
Now mind you, while I support Hillary, I am not anti Obama. I think he could be America's greatest hope or a BIG FLOP (another Jimmy Carter - well meaning, but ineffectual)
I think when it comes to voting for the President of the United States, we need to stop swooning over rhetoric, and seriously understand the issues that affect us now, and in the future, and the candidates SOLUTIONS for what ails us as a Nation.
America wake up! YOU WENT FOR SLOGANS IN 2000, AND SEE WHAT YOU GOT. BE VERY CAREFUL TO NEVER RAISE ANY HUMAN BEING TO LOFTY HEIGHTS AND PUT THEM ON A PEDESTAL. The job of the president of the united states is running TO SERVE YOU.
AMERICA THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU PULL THE LEVER IN WISCONSIN, HAWAII, TEXAS, OHIO, PENNSYLVANIA AND THE REMAINING STATES.
CHOOSE PROVEN RESULTS AND SUBSTANCE OVER SLOGANS AND RHETORIC.
Thank you.

Why the US election is crucial for the rest of the World
"Whether we like it or not, when America sneezes, the world catches a cold."
So begins this article that details why the US presidential election result will have a huge effect on other countries, not just America.
The author writes that in Britain, the US primaries have never been as popular and in the rest of Europe, anti-Bush sentiment has focussed attention on his potential successors. America's actions regarding climate change, Guantanamo Bay's closure, transatlantic trade and international values are also all points of discussion.
He goes on to say that the recent US sub-prime mortgage lending crisis sent global stock market values plummeting when economists predicted a US recession. As well as that, the America president controls the most powerful military in the world. Any decisions made about commanding the military into action have a huge effect on relations between the West and the Muslim world, and ergo, the terrorist threat faced by countries across Europe.
In a traditionally slightly right-leaning newspaper (the newspaper is owned by the same group that over see the right-winged Daily Mail) this is a fairly left-favouring article but, political bias aside, the points raised are certainly interesting to consider. "Whether we like it or not, when America sneezes, the world catches a cold." ... more -

Obama and Clinton hunker down for the long haul
With Super Tuesday not bringing about a break out winner on the Democratic side, Hillary and Obama began 'fortifying' for a long campaign.
Clinton contributed $5 Million of her own money to her campaign while Obama rejected calls for more debates saying that the "Clinton campaign and media will not set his schedule."
On the Republican side:
McCain canceled a trip to Germany this weekend to "wrap things up." Romney is still continuing his quest for nomination, and Huckabee is still in 3rd place. With Super Tuesday not bringing about a break out winner on the Democratic side, Hillary and Obama began 'fortifying' for a ... more
