    • Paul Gascoigne takes inspiration from his Gladiator daughter

Paul Gascoigne is being inspired back to health by a photo of Gladiator step-daughter Bianca. He has decked his living area out with pictures of his family while he is being treated at The Priory clinic.

And pride of place is given to the one of Bianca, 21, as she stars in TV show Gladiators. Last night a close family pal said: “Bianca gave Paul the photo of herself in her Gladiator gear and he’s pinned it up.

    • more Gladitatorial funnies

Following on from my other video... here is another clip, again from Gladiators, again from the US, this time classic gladiators.

      This guy is hilarious.

Sky 1's gladiators really didn't live up to what it could have been.

    • so Gladiators has been back for a while now.... but it hasn't been as good as...

I'm sure most people are aware that Gladiators is back in the UK now on Sky, however, from some of the nostalgic memories of our youth, and also from what has happened in the US it just hasn't delivered. The new Gladiators show is a bit boring and will never be quite as funny as this Eliminator from Episode 1 of the new American Gladiators. • Gladiators are back, hurting themselves and smelling of glue

The UK version of Gladiators is back on the TV eight years after getting the boot. It's not all fun and games though, there have been a series of on-set injuries.

Gladiator Tempest, 19-year-old Lucy Boggis, from Wiltshire, slipped on a suspension bridge and left the Shepperton set with blood pouring from her mouth. Among the list of injuries to contestants, a woman has broken her toe and another hurt her neck.

And an article in the Guardian says that Gladiators smells - with “large quantities of rhinestone glue. The previous look was LA volleyball player; now it’s glamour with a hard edge."

    • New muscly, pouting Gladiators revealed

The 12 new gladiators set to star in Sky One's forthcoming revamped series of the iconic show have been revealed today... as a bunch of ripped, lycra-clad behemoths who get the glare on when a camera's around.

There's six men, six women and they've all got camp, beefy names like Destroyer, Enigma and Atlas - who's billed as "as strong as He-Man, fights hard and with dignity."

The show returns to British screens in May... just enough time to work on my Mouse Fart gladiator costume.

    • Gladiators returns... awooga!

90s Saturday night favourite Gladiators is returning to UK telly screens after the show successfully relaunched in the US.

The show will be given a "21st century makeover," will boast "much more exciting and dangerous" contests and will air on Saturday nights. The Sun reports that Ian Wright is likely to be the new host, replacing John Fashanu. John Anderson (that Scottish bloke whose catchphrase was "Gladiators, ready!") is in talks about returning.

In the show, members of the public will face a new team of 12 perma-tanned, lycra-clad Gladiators, though the return of legendary equipment like the rings and the Travelator haven't been confirmed yet.

According to Sky One's controller, it's going to be big: "Just like the revival of Take That and the Spice Girls, the return of this David-and-Goliath contest will be unmissable."
