The Bush Presidential Library: Bunkers, Crosses and Toilets
The new George W. Bush Presidential Library will be constructed at Southern Methodist University. Some SMU faculty and members of The United Methodist Church are very unhappy about that. An preliminary architectural design contest received entries that looked like bomb shelters, church crosses and toilets. One entrant simply drew a big bush that stated, "Bush Can't Read."

SMU/Methodist Church at odds over Bush Library
George Bush's presidential library is proposed to be built on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas. As you can well imagine, this has not been without its problems. SMU is directly governed by the United Methodist Church, who has expressed strong criticisms against the project stating that building the library on university ground would unofficially tie the church to Pres. Bush, a move they are obviously reluctant to make for obvious reasons.
