    • UK's new Offset Festival excites Pitchfork

With a lineup that includes Gang Of Four, Wire, Prinzhorn Dance School, Black Devil Disco Club, Future of the Left, Young Knives, Metronomy, Johnny Foreigner, the Maccabees and 180 other brand-new and influential artists, it's easy to see why this festival is getting love from across the pond. After the multitude of festival cancellations and lukewarm responses to the biggest festivals this year, could festivals like Offset, with emphasis on lineup and cheap ticket prices rather than that year's big thing and £5 pints of beer, kickstart a revival that makes festivals FUN again? With a lineup that includes Gang Of Four, Wire, Prinzhorn Dance School, Black Devil Disco Club, Future of the Left, Young Knives, Metr... more

    • Burial Unburied!

The enigma that is Burial is an enigma no longer. In a message posted to the artist's official MySpace page today, Burial revealed himself to be a "lowkey" South Londoner by the name of Will Bevan who "just want[s] to make some tunes."

here's what Burial had to say:

      hi

for a while theres been some talk about who i am , but its not a big deal
i wanted to be unknown because i just want it to be all about the tunes.
over the last year the unknown thing become an issue so im not into it any more.
im a lowkey person and i just want to make some tunes, nothing else. my names will bevan, im from south london, im keeping my head down and just going to finish my next album, theres going to be a 12" maybe in the next few weeks too with 4 tunes. hope u like it, i'll try put a tune up later

sorry for any rubbish tunes i made in the past, ill make up for it

a big big thank you to anyone who ever supported me, liked my tunes or sent me messages, it means the world to me

big up everyone, take care, will ( burial )

And there you have it! A wise PR move, considering Burial is the favorite for this year's Mercury Prize and the talk of the UK press these days. Upstanding UK rag The Sun even put a call out to its readers to help unmask the mysterious dubstepper, suggesting he may in fact be Aphex Twin or Fatboy Slim's Norman Cook.

    • Prince vs. Radiohead: DMCA FIGHT!

Prince covered Radiohead's Creep at Coachella. A clip wound up on YouTube. YouTube pulled the clip, and Radiohead is not thrilled. And so a digital rights fight is going to ensue.

      Here's a blip from Pitchfork:

"Having footage of his own songs removed is within Prince's rights of course, but where should the line be drawn for covers?

Radiohead, as it happens, feel that right belongs to them. An Associated Press report picked up by Billboard.com today notes comments from a recent Radiohead interview (with the AP, presumably, although the report's not 100% clear on that) that suggest the band isn't pleased with Prince's decision to have those "Creep" cover videos taken down. As the AP report puts it:

"Thom Yorke said he heard about Prince's performance from a text message and thought it was "hilarious." Yorke laughed when his bandmate, guitarist Ed O'Brien, said the blocking had prevented even him from seeing Prince's version of their song.

"Really? He's blocked it?" asked Yorke, who figured it was their song to block or not. "Surely we should [have the right to] block it. Hang on a moment." Yorke added, "Well, tell him to unblock it. It's our...song."""

      Thoughts?
