Burmese migrants choke in a seafood container
More than 50 Burmese immigrants have suffocated in the back of a cold storage container smuggling them into southern Thailand for work.
121 people were crammed inside the container. 54 were found dead, 46 managed to escape from the vehicle and flag down the police and were later arrested, and 21 have been hospitalized.
Police officers say the migrants choked after the ventilation system failed. More than 50 Burmese immigrants have suffocated in the back of a cold storage container smuggling them into southern Thailand for work... more
