Gotta Check out this Cave!
The story behind it is even cooler.
If you're feeling ballsy enough, take an under water flash light and a diving mask. Go to the back left of the cave and you'll spot a hole in the wall.
Climb up the cave wall and into that hole.
You'll drop down into another hidden pond-under water spelunkers dive through those caves. You can then climb up the walls and out onto the side of the small cliff-it's pretty rad.
OR
Go further back into the cave and there's the spot where the princess Popoalaea hid from her husband. FYI, the REAL spot is way the hell back in that cave. The story behind it is even cooler. ... more -
Learn about the native Hawaiian culture
This place is set up from a hard core Hawaiian family. They have like 8 kids and they are all raised to live off the land (no electricity!!) and home schooled until they get old enough to go to college. The father (forgot his name) is a huge advocate for protecting Hawaiian lands. I've never been here 'cause I never have time when I go to Maui but if you want a true educational experience this might be cool. This place is set up from a hard core Hawaiian family.
