The Bush administration has built a new generation of nuclear weapons that we call ‘usable’ nukes, and they have a nuclear ‘posture’ now, which permits the use of nuclear weapons in a non-nuclear environment if the Commander in Chief deems U.S forces to be at significant risk. If we start bombing Iran (I tell you now it’s not going to work). My concern is that we will use nuclear weapons to break the backbone of Iranian resistance and it may not work, but what it will do is this. It will unleash the nuclear genie. So to all those Americans out there tonight who are saying, you know what, taking on Iran is a good thing… . And if we use nuclear weapons, the genie ain’t going back in the bottle until an American city is taken out by an Islamic weapon in retaliation. So tell me, you want to go to war against Iran, pick your city. Pick your city. Tell me which one you want gone. Seattle? L.A.? Boston? New York? Miami? Pick one! Because at least one’s going. And that’s something we should all think about before marching down this path of insanity.

Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America’s fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent? Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?
As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse? We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena. And all turned out to be hoaxes. In response to Obama's speech on racial divisions Patrick J. Buchanan said:
"First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known."
Dear Mr. Buchanan,
I must examine all the reasons you are wrong in this particular statement, because it is the thesis of your essay you have presented. For your benefit, I will also provide the truth behind why Obama said what he said. Bear with me.
"It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from African in slave ships..." To become slaves! Yes, because that's exactly what "black people" wanted!
"...grew into a community of 40 million." By being raped by their slave masters, who thought it was a great way to get more slaves!
"...were introduced to Christian salvation..." Forcefully. Good times, when people thought black men were cursed with the mark of Cain, who killed his brother Able. But it did give them something to believe in, yes. That Moses would come to them and deliver them from SLAVERY.
"...and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known". After 350 years of slavery. Oh, and Thomas Jefferson writing an entire essay explaining why black people weren't human. And being treated like livestock. Beaten, raped, killed, etc, etc. And then - here's the funny part - after they're finally free and told they are men, they have to endure segregation and the Jim Crow laws and deep-rooted racism!
Now knowing that, Pat, why don't you rewrite your essay. Maybe title it "A brief to myself in the understanding of African-American culture".
