Brazilian invents luminescent water-bottle lightbulbs
A man invented a lightbulb that uses no electricity or batteries which is made from empty plastic bottles filled with water and clorox. The Sun charges the particles creating a chemical reaction, making the bottle illuminate as strongly as a 60-watt electrical lightbulb. The light is bright white.

Climate in crisis: massive cracks found in Arctic by Canadian military
The Canadian military has released evidence showing massive cracks in the Arctic Ice. The expedition found cracks that stretched for more than 10 miles (16km) on Ward Hunt, the area's largest shelf. This is seen by scientists as a repercussion from Climate Change.
One of the expedition's scientists, Derek Mueller of Trent University, Ontario, told the BBC: "I was astonished to see these new cracks.
"It means the ice shelf is disintegrating, the pieces are pinned together like a jigsaw but could float away," said Dr. Mueller

Who are the Polluters in San Francisco?
Being under an "Acoustic Attack Regime," is not a pleasant situation, at least for me. The reason is, I have an Acoustic Education. I know, noise is a type of invasive energy. So, I decided to do this movie taken from up of one of my neighborhood hills here in San Francisco.
I hope we all can find some temporarily enjoyment watching it! Outside of this temporarily joy, please do not forget to raise your highest Spiritual and Mental Conciseness to Act Today to Stop This Acoustic Madness!
I have hopes that the San Francisco Planning Department, Police, Highway Patrol and Fire Department will learn something Today.
Please, Sign our Petition, Make Your Own Statement Against Man Made Pollution and Please Give Us Your Suggestion of How We Should Procedure To STOP This Madness.

Teen finds way to decompose plastic bags in just 3 months!
"If ordinary plastic bags would rot away like banana peels there’s no doubt a host of environmental problems would be solved, the fate of the turtle above included. And one 11th grader from Canada set out to make that dream come true as part of his school science project. A wildly successful endeavor he figures will make them decompose in just 3 months.
But how did this extraordinary young scientist named Daniel Burd pull it off?
Well, he decided the fact that they do, eventually, decompose after 1,000 years on their own meant there must be something out there causing it, and postulated that it might well be naturally occurring microorganisms behind it.
So he set about with the good old-fashioned scientific method as his guide, searching for the microorganisms, rarely found in nature, that actually do make plastic decompose.
Ultimately, he identified two strains of bacteria that work together to pull it off, with Sphingomonas serving as the primary decomposer with help from Pseudomonas.
And according to Burd, industrial application should be easy, "All you need is a fermenter . . . your growth medium, your microbes and your plastic bags."
As many folks know, the simplest solutions are usually the ones that work best. And this kid has clearly come up with a potentially world changing idea". "If ordinary plastic bags would rot away like banana peels there’s no doubt a host of environmental problems would be solved, the fate... more -
Obama, Clinton don't dare challenge King Coal's unspeakable environmental violenc...
It's the one environmental crime that no US politician will confront – the destruction of Kentucky's mountains. Leonard Doyle visits the Appalachian peaks being blasted by Big Coal.
~~~~
The road slicing through the thickly forested hills of eastern Kentucky used to be called the Daniel Boone Parkway. It was named for the controversial American folk hero who fought his way across Indian country to settle a state where many of his descendants still live.
That was before the coal industry began blowing up the Appalachian Mountains as a cheap way of getting at the black stuff below, behaviour decried by the environmental group Appalachian Voices as "one of the greatest human rights and environmental tragedies in America's recent history".
Daniel Boone's road is now the Hal Rogers Parkway, named after one of the Kentucky coal industry's closest friends in Washington, a Republican Congressman of 34 years. It passes through a mountain range older than the Himalayas and is blanketed in broadleaf forests rivalled only by the Amazon basin in its biodiversity.
But the canopy of trees which lines the parkway as it rises from the bluegrass horse country to the mountains is a trompe l'oeil. The lush forest gives way to scraggly trees along the ridge-line, and behind those trees is evidence of unspeakable ecological violence. In a process known as mountaintop removal an upland moonscape is being created, which is incapable of regenerating trees. As far as the eye can see, the land is grey and pockmarked with huge black lakes, filled with toxic coal slurry.
This has come about because of America's insatiable appetite for cheap coal to generate electricity, a process enthusiastically backed by the Bush administration as it tries to displace the consumption of imported oil. And the Democrats are little better. They control Kentucky and neither Barack Obama nor Hillary Clinton have dared to challenge "King Coal" while campaigning.
The devastation being wrought on Appalachia is best appreciated from the air. An organisation called Southwinds offers people an eagle-eye view of the carnage, not readily appreciated from the road. Another way to see what's going on behind the ridge-line is to take a Google Earth virtual tour of an online memorial to the 470 mountains blown up and levelled in recent years.
California air is three times more deadly than previously thought
According to information just released by the California Environmental Protection Agency's Air Resources Board (ARB) up to 24,000 deaths a year may be attributed to particulate pollution. The figure is triple that of previous official estimates.
The new data was compiled by USC, who tracked 23,000 people in greater Los Angeles, and the American Cancer Society, who tracked 300,000 people nationwide.
One the reasons that the new estimated death toll is so much higher, is that experts had previously underestimated the dangers of particulate matter, which is too small to be caught by the body's own nose and throat, hair and mucous filtration system, and lodges deep in lungs, causing all manner of health problems such as asthma, cancer and cardiovascular disease.
"Our report concludes these particles are 70% more dangerous than previously thought, based on several major studies that have occurred in the last five years," said the ARB's chief researcher, Bart Croes, in a statement to the Los Angeles Times. "There's no death certificate that says specifically someone died of air pollution, but cities with higher rates of air pollution have much greater rates of death from cardiovascular diseases."
As shown on the California Environmental Protection Agency maps above, California has more counties designated for nonattainment of PM-10 (particulate matter less than 10 microns in size) safety levels in the "serious" classification than the rest of the U.S. put together. A similar map also shows widespread non-compliance for PM-2.5 safety levels (a classification for smaller particles) in California.
Not un-coincidentally, according to data compiled by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) in 1996, the top 5 metropolitan areas in the nation ranked by mortality rates attributable to particulate matter are all in California. The worst offender was Visalia-Tulare-Porterville, followed by Riverside-San Bernardino, Bakersfield, Fresno, and Stockton.
With such toxic air effectively fatally poisoning 24,000 people per year in the Golden State, drastic measures, such as the Bay Area's new pollution tax, are sorely needed.
"Particle pollution is a silent killer," said ARB Chairman Mary D. Nichols. "We must work even harder to cut these life-shortening emissions by further addressing pollution sources head-on." According to information just released by the California Environmental Protection Agency's Air Resources Board (ARB) up to 24,000 deat... more -
The Earth: It’s A Great Place To Live
Just a reminder on Earth Day, that as students of the Law of Attraction, we should focus on the positive rather than the negative in order to bring about the planetary change we desire. So don’t get caught up in the doom and gloom of global warming, or get depressed about the oceans of trash. Instead, focus on the beauty of this planet we call home, and how you can nurture it, both in big and small ways, everyday, to preserve it for generations to come. And celebrate the fact that there are millions of like-minded individuals all around the globe with similar goals on this very special day.
Rock and roll ain’t noise pollution – at least not according to AC/DC.
I beg to differ. I think anything that’s too loud is aurally contaminating. I don’t care how good the groove is; whatever it is can be listened to at a reasonable volume. You kids get the hell off my lawn.
Ocean current = Energy for millions
A researcher in Florida has developed a prototype that could turn ocean currents into enough energy to power one third of the state. Dr. Rick Driscoll with Florida Atlantic University in Dania Beach hopes to build a so-called underwater ‘wind farm’ that uses water instead of air. Driscoll is testing his system in the powerful Gulf Stream, just fifteen miles off Southeast Florida's coast. It's the first project in the world attempting to harvest ocean energy. Driscoll says if it works, the 1.8 billion acres of America ’s Outer Continental Shelf could be the next renewable energy frontier.
Artists of all kinds - you can kiss your copyright rights goodbye
Unless this new law can be prevented, you will lose your copyright rights to all your artwork, photographs, paintings, music, lyrics, films, videos, 3D animations, and anything else you have created, while corporations can steal your work and profit from it. This is extremely bad news for all those whose livelihood depends on their creations. Even your photographs which you have uploaded to your own albums online (such as Flickr, Picasa, etc.) will be affected. This is theft, pure and simple - theft which will be made legal very soon unless people react en masse and force their legislators not to pass this new Orphan Works legislation that is before Congress.
