Does stashing 10% of your paycheck into your savings seem like an archaic (as well as painful, unrealistic and troublesome) idea? Apparently, it does. These days, Americans are saving less and taking on more debt.¹ Now with Wachovia’s new Way2Save^SM program, saving is almost effortless. When you make check card purchase or pay a bill online, $1 is transferred from your Wachovia free checking account to your Way2Save^SM high interest savings account.² With the Way2Save^SM program, you can let your imagination be your limit and not your wallet.

Is your favorite band playing a once-in-a-lifetime reunion show in another country? Thinking of upgrading your current set of wheels? Do you have dreams of backpacking the globe ten years from now? Make an ad showing us something worth saving for and how the Way2Save^SM program can help you get there.

requirements:

• Do your best to keep your VCAM under 60 seconds
• Make use of the mandatory end tag provided
• The tone must be exciting, fun, upbeat, and optimistic and appeal to a diverse audience
• (Optional) You can mention that Wachovia will even pay you up to $300 just for saving.³

^2-3 Excludes online payments that post to your account as paper checks. Customers enrolled in the program earn a 5 percent annual bonus in year one, up to $300, and a 2 percent annual bonus in years two and three, up to $300. Bonuses are calculated on an annual basis for the first three years on eligible balances. The eligible balance is equal to the savings contributions for the current year (i.e., the sum of the $1 transfers and up to $1,200 of the recurring transfers) or the Way2Save account balance, whichever is less. The Way2Save account is a variable rate account and the rate is subject to change after account opening. Fees may reduce earnings.

    Wachovia's VCAM is Closed!

    Hey VCAM-ers,
    
    I am very excited for this VCAM assignment for two reasons:
    
    1) It will be fun. Wachovia's Way2Save program wants you to show us something worth saving for.
    
    and...
    
    2) It is our first VCAM assignment where we are offering $2500 instead of $1000 if your ad is chosen to air on TV.

    EDIT #2: Alot of VCAM producers are asking why all of the entries have been grayed out. I just want to assure everyone that we are currently screening the submissions before we can post them online. They should be unlocking shortly, so thank you so much for your patience!
    
    EDIT #3 (6/16/08): We've extended the deadline to June 25th to give everyone extra time to cross their t's and dot their i's. Hurrah!
    
    EDIT #4 (6/17/08): In the screening process, we are very particular about how you address the product features of the Way2Save program. So if you do talk about the features, make sure you are stating that it the $1 is being transferred from your Wachovia checking account to your Way2Save high interest savings account.
    
    EDIT #5 (6/20/08): Also, if you mention "check card" anywhere in your ad, please specify that it is a "Wachovia Visa Check Card". Please contact me with any questions!
