Church leaders call for international help in Zimbabwe
Church leaders in Zimbabwe are calling for international intervention in what they are describing as a "deteriorating situation" of post-election violence.
"If nothing is done to help the people of Zimbabwe from their predicament, we shall soon be witnessing genocide similar to that experienced in Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and other hotspots in Africa and elsewhere," they said.
"Robert Mugabe is a liberation hero on our continent and he must be convinced to make a graceful exit," said Morgan Tsvangirai, leader of the opposition group, the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), which claims it has rightfully won the election.
In my opinion, if Mugabe had won the election, then he would have released the results immediately. The only possible reason he could be withholding the results is that he lost the election.
