Sara's House - In Production
Hello,
My first CURRENT TV commission... so I thought I'd share the joy with you as it unfolds.
A few years ago, I read a story of how an African natural root bark used for psychoactive rituals, had an unexpected side effect in that it helped with Heroin withdrawal, amongst other addictions. The ability of Ibogaine to interrupt chemical dependence was first noted in the West by Howard Lotsof, who for 30 years battled to bring the drug to public attention.
Being classed as an unlicensed, experimental medication here in the UK, I looked to Holland for more information, and found Sara Glatt - self proclaimed 'Iboga Mother'. Sara is a single mum of five kids, and has an open house to a variety of addicts, with many people travelling from all over the world to be cured of their particular addiction.
The side affects can be severe, with vomiting and nausea, but through an intense emotional journey, many people claim to have kicked their habits.
I travel to Holland next week, where we'll see the process through characters undergoing the treatment... pop back and see what unfolds.
Will be posting pictures... No vomit I promise.
You can see that when the pod's finished.
Wish us luck. Hello, My first CURRENT TV commission... so I thought I'd share the joy with you as it unfolds. ... more
