Stitch is a fashion show started by the Austin Craft Mafia, a group of women who realized they could market their skills better collectively than competitively and so they united to throw shows and cross promote. The Stitch show gathers local designers for a runway show where each present 4 original looks set to music and visuals. The idea of the event is to give designers/crafters a non-traditional outlet to sell and show their wares.
This piece takes viewers through what happens behind the scenes, amateur designers in their homes working into the night after coming home from a day job in the fabric store, trying to put final touches on their outfits. Interviews with vendors who don 't often travel but have come from far away for the show because there's nothing like it.
