Pink Spyder - The Suicide of Hideo Matsumoto
As a fan of Anime, I've become a fan of J-Pop or Japanse Pop. In doing so, I came across an artist named "hide Matsumoto". After looking in to his work, I found out that he had been dead for several years from an apparent suicide. I decided to look in to it and create a short documentary about the subject. As I began to research, I found out that several young fans had tried to kill themselves when the news of his suicide became public. This is just one look in to a much larger issue of teen suicide that runs rampant in Japan to this day. Rare Formula
Rare Formula is a group based in Chapel Hill, NC.
Group members include UNC students Simz and Simone along with Seku who hails from Brooklyn.
They got an amazing sound that draws from Old School, Funk, Motown, Euro-pop, J-pop, Disco, R&B, Hip-hop and Jazz. If you like M-flo, Lupe, Pharrell or Kanye, you'll probably enjoy what Rare Formula has to offer!
