GO LIBERTARIAN PARTY!!!
DIVIDED WE FAIL! There are libertarian candidates running.
While this site is amazing in that it is focused on important issues like the environment and getting our country up and running again after all the devastation it has seen...still there is this liberal bias. The libertarian party is a healthy balance. The Libertarian party is that happy medium. You don't have to throw your left sided views away. You don't have to acknowledge conservative values. No. You simply have to TAKE A LOOK AROUND. SEE the need for smaller government, lower taxes, and more personal freedom and liberty. If this addition I'm making to the site gets no hits I'll be convinced the world is truly coming to an end.
DIVIDED WE FAIL!
VOTE LIBERTARIAN!
NOT LIBERAL, NOT CONSERVATIVE,...
IT'S UP TO THE PEOPLE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM HASN'T BEEN WORKING FOR THE LAST TWO HUNDRED YEARS AS IS CLEARLY BLATANTLY UNBELIEVABLY OBVIOUSLY EVIDENT!
YOU WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE SO BAD?
OUR GOVERMENT IS CORRUPT. THE POWER STRUGGLE, POLITICIANS, GREED...
THEY ARE ALL ONLY OUT TO BENEFIT THEMSELVES.
THIS COUNTY WAS BUILT UPON LIBERTY.
THINK ABOUT THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM AND WHAT IS HAS DONE TO THIS NATION. NOTHING BENEFICIAL.
DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR THE "DEMOCRATIC MESSIAH" SAY. IT'S CALLED COMMON SENSE. USE YOUR BRAIN. RESEARCH GOVERNMENT. DON'T BE EXTREMELY LEFT OR EXTREMEMLY RIGHT. CHECK OUT THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY!!!!!!
A THIRD PARTY ISN'T A GUARANTEE JUST LIKE NOTHING CAN EVER BE 100% CERTAIN. BUT ELECTING IN A THIRD PARTY CANDIDATE WOULD SURELY BE THE PEOPLE MAKING A STAND. THE PEOPLE MAKING CHANGE. ISN'T THAT WHAT THIS SITE IS ALL ABOUT??? SO MAKE A DIFFERENCE TODAY. REMEMBER THIS COUNTRY'S HISTORY AND FOUNDING FATHERS. CELEBRATE THIS FREE NATION BECAUSE THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING THIS NATION WON'T BE FREE FOR LONG. NOT WITH A REPUBLICAN 'OR' DEMOCRAT IN OFFICE.
LIBERTY AND FREEDOM FOR ALL! DIVIDED WE FAIL! There are libertarian candidates running. ... more -

Rules Must Bend to Allow McCain, Obama on Texas Ballot with Barr
"In Texas, we have a clear deadline that was not met by the Republicans and Democrats, but it is all but certain that some way, some how, the establishment candidates will find a way on the ballot. No Auto Industry Bailout says Bob Barr - "It’s time to say no to another raid...
Barr says that "it doesn’t matter how closely you listen to the parade of politicians at both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions" because Americans won't hear anyone promising to make the hard decisions necessary to bring the budget into balance. "You certainly won’t hear them offering to make sacrifices themselves; instead, they insist that everyone else make sacrifices so they can keep on spending our money,” says Barr.
“We can’t afford another four years of more spending, more promises and more red ink," Barr contends.
Only Bob Barr and the Libertarian Party are determined to stop treating the federal government as a coast-to-coast soup line for the well connected. Only a vote for Bob Barr will be a vote for real change. Barr says that "it doesn’t matter how closely you listen to the parade of politicians at both the Democratic and Republican Natio... more -

Bob Barr Only Presidential Candidate on Ballot in Texas?
Bob Barr is slated to be the only presidential candidate on the ballot in Texas after Republicans and Democrats missed the Aug. 26 deadline to file in the state.
"Unless the state of Texas violates its own election laws, Congressman Barr will be the only presidential candidate on the ballot," says Russell Verney, campaign manager for the Barr Campaign and the former campaign manager for Ross Perot. "Texas law makes no exceptions for missing deadlines."
The Texas Secretary of State Web site shows only Bob Barr as the official candidate for president in Texas.
"We know all about deadlines," says Verney. "We are up against them constantly in our fight to get on the ballot across the nation. When we miss deadlines, we get no second chances. This is a great example of how unreasonable deadlines chill democracy."
"Republicans and Democrats make certain that third party candidates are held to ballot access laws, no matter how absurd or unreasonable," says Verney. "Therefore, Republicans and Democrats should be held to the same standards." Bob Barr is slated to be the only presidential candidate on the ballot in Texas after Republicans and Democrats missed the Aug. 26 dea... more -
Do You Want Bob in the Debates?
Please call the Commission on Presidential Debates at (202) 872-1020 and politely request that they include Bob Barr, the Libertarian Party nominee for president, in the presidential debates.
It is very important that you are professional, respectful and courteous when you call. Explain that Congressman Barr is having an impact in the election and that a recent Zogby poll found that 55% of voters want to include him in the debates. Also, express the importance of choice on the ballot and the need to present a view to voters that is different from the status-quo. Who are these Libertarians, and why should we care?
[U]nderstanding libertarianism is vital if the United States is ever to reverse the current 100-year trend away from freedom. What most Americans don’t know is that libertarianism is simply the modern political label given to the philosophy that the United States was founded upon. It is the philosophy of individual liberty. Without rediscovering what that means, the United States may soon be a glorious experiment with self governance by a free people that ultimately devolved into just one more socialist mediocrity or authoritarian nightmare...
... While most Americans still consider the United States the “land of the free,” few probably understand that “free” means individual liberty. Most Americans in 2008 have either never heard of individual liberty, or haven’t heard about it in so long that they have forgotten what it means. After decades of immersion in collectivist ideology, most Americans have been led to believe that freedom is “democracy.” Most Americans are content to be told that they are free, so long as the evening news explains why the most recent decisions made about their lives are really in their best interests. They are content to derive their “freedom” from government.
Imagine the presidential campaign of 1796 with today’s political frontrunners and today’s American psyche. John McCain is promising a generous helping of warfare, without neglecting essential welfare. Barack Obama is promising a generous helping of welfare, without neglecting essential warfare (at least on behalf of Israel). As these two titans battle for the prize, Thomas Jefferson, the Libertarian candidate, and John Adams, the Constitution Party candidate, answer the occasional question from the debate moderator in those states where they are able to get onto the ballot and into the debates at all. What might our country have become if this had been reality in 1796? What is it becoming now?
Certainly there will not be a Libertarian Party candidate elected president in 2008, nor likely in 2012 or 2016. The most successful LP candidate for president was Ed Clark in the 1980 election, with a whopping 1% of the vote. While it would be wonderful to see the Libertarian political party gain prominence and power, this is not the essential priority. What is much more important is that the American people start rediscovering libertarianism, the philosophy of individual liberty, and once again start demanding to be free. Libertarianism must again dominate the platforms of all political parties, as it once did, if the present trends toward socialism and authoritarianism are to reverse. Only when a libertarian Republican runs against a libertarian Democrat, with perhaps even a libertarian third party candidate in contention, will we have a chance to restore the freedom that fueled America’s mercurial rise to greatness. Only by restoring individual liberty will America return to prosperity, and once again become the land of the free.

How you can help the Republic of Lakota
In this interview with our friend Russell Means, Russ tells us what we can do to help the Republic of Lakotah.
______________________
This is a response to an email sent to the webmaster from Pokey from the Rosebud Reservation.
January 25, 2008
Dear Pokey,
Russell Means has asked me to respond to your letter. I will do my best. Some of the responses, particularly the ones with exclamation marks, are direct quotes from Russell. I have regrouped some of your points to address them together.
Best,
Jerry Collette
Interim Attorney General
Provisional Government
Warriors Society
The Republic of Lakotah does not and will not have any type of Warrior Society, paramilitary or anything that foments violence.
How can I help the Republic of Lakotah?
To all people who have volunteered to help:
On behalf of all the volunteers of the provisional government of this newly reborn nation, thank you for your offer to help.
Where the government will ultimately be situated is yet to be determined. The provisional government is currently being operated out of Treaty School/Ranch in Porcupine, on the Pine Ridge reservation. This clearly limits the number of people we can have working here in person.
Not only will the Republic need more people working on its behalf, but in order to rebuild the nation we will need to attract entrepreneurs to establish businesses. A commercial center with more of an infrastructure than we have at Porcupine would seem to facilitate both the government and commercial needs for the near term future. In order to have the number of people who want to come and that will be needed, we are looking at setting up a temporary location, probably somewhere near Rapid City, South Dakota very soon.
Meanwhile, we are building a network of people helping from wherever they are while we get a location established for people to come. With the Internet, people can do much from anywhere they are.
If you would be willing to begin working from where you are, that would be great. Please let us know what talents and skills you would like to contribute. We know people tend to thrive best when they are fulfilling their passions. That said, there are also some administrative tasks, often the kind of work few people feel passionate about, but are needed nonetheless. Many of us are doing many jobs right now, as needed. It is very exciting.
We look forward to having a place set up for you and others to come here in person. Until then, we welcome and bless you and your contributions to our shared future.
