London's Oyster Card system grinds to a halt

"There was a technical problem with the Oyster card computer system yesterday morning, Saturday 12 July, until around 9.30am. As a result card readers across the TfL network were not accepting Oyster cards for parts of the day yesterday."

"A number of cards used on London Underground before 9.30am yesterday may not be working as a result of yesterday's technical problem. Customers who topped up their cards at Oyster Ticket Stops during the day may also have been affected.
