Olbermann calls on McCain the 'fraud' to suspend campaign (VIDEO)

Incendiary language from the audiences at McCain-Palin rallies has recently become commonplace. During the warmup prior to an appearance by Sarah Palin in Scranton on Tuesday, there was yet another cry of "kill him" following a mention of Barack Obama's name.

Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden told ABC on Sunday, "I'm no more concerned about it, as long as ... John pushes it back in a box and Gov. Palin pushes it back in a box. I don't think they intentionally do it."

However, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann devoted a Special Comment on Tuesday evening to John McCain and Sarah Palin's failure to take responsibility for what is said in their name and rein in their increasingly intemperate followers. He concluded by suggesting to McCain that he "suspend your campaign now, until you or somebody else gets some control over it and it ceases to be a clear and present danger to the peace of this nation."

Olbermann was particularly incensed by McCain's reaction when he was asked on Tuesday about the violent rhetoric of his supporters. McCain replied, briefly and casually, "Sure, I repudiate it, as I have on several occasions." He immediately went on to rail against Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), who charged last weekend that McCain and Palin are "sowing the seeds of hatred and division" and compared the mood at their rallies to the "atmosphere of hate" created by George Wallace.

"And unfortunately Congressman John Lewis -- an American hero who I admire -- made the most, worst, most unacceptable statement a couple of days ago that I've ever heard," McCain stated. "He accused me and Sarah Palin of being involved with segregation, George Wallace, and even made reference to a church bombing where children were killed. Senator Obama has not repudiated that statement. ... It's the most outrageous thing that I've heard since I've been in politics. .. It's disgraceful."

"'Disgraceful'?" Olberman echoed. "Obviously, Senator, you haven't heard your own speeches, or Governor Palin's, and what people shout during them. ... These people are speaking for you. And how dare you try to claim Congressman Lewis was linking you to Governor George Wallace's segregation. He was, in fact, linking you -- aptly, sir -- to Governor George Wallace's lynch-mob mentality."

"There are some things to honor and respect about you Senator McCain," concluded Olbermann, "but on this, you are not only a fraud, sir, but you are tacitly inciting lunatics to violence. Olbermann slams McCain on Iraq war

We all know Keith can get a little hot headed but I still think he's extremely patriotic, I think he does this because he feels it's a moral imperative, call me naive if you will. Keith always will K.O. the right wingers

"Tonight, a Special Comment on Sen. John McCain’s conclusion that it’s "not too important" when American forces come home from Iraq.

"Thoughts, offered more in sorrow, than in anger. For two full days now, the Senator and his supporters have been outraged at what they see as the subtraction of context from this extraordinary remark.

This is, sadly, the excuse of our time, for everything. Still. If the Senator claims truncation, we will correct that, first.

"A lot of people," Matt Lauer began, "now say the surge is working."

"Anybody who knows the facts on the ground say that," the Senator interjected.

"If it’s now working, Senator," Lauer continued, "do you now have a better estimate of when American forces can come home from Iraq?"

"No," answered McCain. "But that’s not too important. What’s important is the casualties in Iraq. Americans are in South Korea. Americans are in Japan. American troops are in Germany.

That’s all fine. American casualties and the ability to withdraw. We will be able to withdraw. General Petraeus is going to tell us in July when he thinks we are. But the key to it is we don’t want any more Americans in harm’s way. And that way they will be safe, and serve our country, and come home with honor and victory — not in defeat, which is what Sen. [Barack] Obama’s proposal would have done. And I’m proud of them, and they’re doing a great job. And we are succeeding. And it’s fascinating that Sen. Obama still doesn’t realize it."

The full context is that the Iraq you see, is a figment of your imagination. This is not a war about "honor and victory," Sir. This is a war you, and the President you support and seek to succeed, conned this nation into.

7 Years and Republicans Still Using 911 As Their TM

9-11 - The people's tragedy not the Republican! The Republican Party, stole the 9-11 appalling saga to further their neoconservative power agenda. After 7 years, they are still referring to it as something belonging to them. Vote for me and our country will be safe from another horrendous attack upon our soil. Vote for the other party and a violent infraction from some enemy will surely occur. We heard it solidly for the first four faux years of the neocon Bush administration, mostly to justify their illegal war. Now that Bush will soon sequester to the back pages of history under the subject, USA's worst presidents. Still, STILL, this party with NO shame, is using the tragedies of that infamous day in September 2001, when America was used like a stuffed leather bag, bludgeoned over and over again, to promote terror. They act as though they are saddened by the events of that terrible day but when they use it like a tool to get the power they so lust for, how can anyone believe their lament. Keith Olbermann, so poignantly put into words, how he feels, how I feel, how so many of you feel, the disgust and anguish we grip each time they use it as a prop.

At THEIR OWN CONVENTION, they used it AGAIN as a prop to bolster their standing amongst the American voters. A PROP OF FEAR! This party of disservice has no shame and they will go on and on lying, misconstruing and whatever it takes to keep power. They care not for this land that so many have died for. They live, breath and sustain only with one objective, to stay on the course of power whether or not they destroy the very thing they wish to control. It's time for all who THINK, who truly want the best for our country because we know it will belong to so many who will come long after us, to say ENOUGH! If this actually does not happen this election time around we may be a country so weakened by the avaricious blunders of the right-wing, we will become easy pickings for the power brutes of the world.
