A Case for Patience and Kindness is a story about the attempts of active drug users and former drug users to curb the spread of HIV among injection drug users in Washington D.C. The individuals in the movie are from very different backgrounds but nontheless agree that compassion and scientifically proven public health approaches are far more effective than jail time in dealing with the problems that surround opiate addiction. This is also a story about Harm Reduction; a public health policy that has been embraced by many countries around the world but has met with fierce oppostion here in the U.S. And finally it is story about the need for patience and kindness when facing the things that frighten us.

I found this educational and very well done! Ron Daniels program in the DC area should be a model around the country. I'm touched by Chris Richards going pass his apprehension and "underdeveloped imagery" to be part of this very important work.

Excellent Short Film. This is a subject matter that needs to be discussed on a larger scale. We all need to be more compassionate to the needs of those that are plaqued by substance abuse. .

Congratulations from Germany for this very well done short movie. Even if the subject does not concern me, I found it very interesting.

Great job! You are the cutting edge of true harm reduction and getting the word out to the world what needle exchange programs are.

"There for the Grace of God go I." We are a humanity of "one" and this film can bring to the mainstream consciousness the need for us all to recognize our responsibility to sustain the essense of our humanity......compassion and purpose. I have direct knowledge of the programs that Prevention Works, Inc.! provides and applaud them for acting on our "collective responsibilities." And thanks to Charles Sessoms for this excellent production.

really interesting film about an often misunderstood issue.

This probably goes without saying: In my last comment, I failed to type the word "but."
There, but for the Grace of God go I.-

enter your post here This film should be used extensively in organizing for needle exchange programs in Prince George's County and in teaching students in all health fields. Would love to hear how this is being used. Thanks

Excellent short. Great content; strong characters; wonderful music. It dug down and pulled strong emotions out of me. What more could you ask for in a film?

Excellent. First of all, these are health care issues and should be treated as such. Second, this example of compassion has a variety of benefits. It demonstrates HOW to be compassionate in a very specific, somettimes challenging way. It provides an example of how compassion changes the whole situation in which it is demonstrated. And finally, in this situation, compassion and the work that goes with it provide instant karma, whereby the whole is improved by a simple action. Bravo!

Excellent, intimate depiction of an oft misunderstood issue. Enjoyed the images and seeing the range of participants, nice balance of data and personal experience. Kudos! GL!

Congratulations in promoting such a wonderful work those people are doing. At the end, it is all about respect for others. You did a great job on your use of the productions values, and created a very strong pod. GL from me!
If you get a chance, please check out my pod: A Humane Society. I am also trying to give a voice to an overlooked issue, which involves respect for other living creatures. Thanks!-

GL and thank you for your insight and a well done pod on an important issue. I mean they do this in Europe right? What's the big deal here? Thank you, I'm 20 years sober and the more light we shine on all of this, the more the world shines. If you get a chance, come see Shadow Boxer link Getreel
