Get your tax refund faster this year
The end of January each year brings double checks on progress with the New Year's resolutions, maybe thoughts of spring and of course, the arrival of those W2s in the mail from your employer.
Yep, it is the start of tax season. The official tax return filing due date for the IRS is April 15 but you can file anytime after you've received all your respective tax documents. We all want that refund money in our accounts as soon as possible so we have a few things we recommend you do, including getting your refund up to FIVE days faster when you. have it sent via direct deposit to your Current account:
Use your Current Premium account and routing numbers on your tax forms and sign up for direct deposit: We've made this easier for you than ever this year with a dedicated portal on the home screen of the Current app to file your taxes AND easily access your Current account and routing number. From there, you'll get your refund up to FIVE days faster than with a traditional bank after you file.

- File early: There is no need to wait until April to file your returns. The earlier you file, the faster the government can process your return, especially before the biggest volume of returns hits (in 2019, 95 million Americans received tax refunds).
- File electronically: Did we mention we have a dedicated section in our app for you to easily file your taxes AND access your account and routing numbers to get your refund via direct deposit to Current? Dropping your returns in the mail the old-fashioned way is of course still an option to file your returns but they will take longer to arrive and longer for the government to process. Submitting them online or having your tax professional e-file them means less waiting and more cash in your account sooner (did we also mention up to five days faster with Current?)
Have any questions? Our member support team is here to help 24/7 and as always, we're working every day to get your hard-earned cash to you as fast as possible. Because as we like to say, there are plenty of things in life worth waiting for, but at Current, we just don't believe your money should be one of them.
Still not signed up for Current? Sign up for a Current Premium Account in less than two minutes to get your tax refund up to five days faster!
